TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA IS COMING BACK TO DAYTIME Posted On: February 15, 2011
In what I can only call a shocking announcement, it appears that Tamara is on her way back to daytime television. And it’s back to DAYS OF OUR LIVES, but not as Ava, her Emmy Award Winning role…but as a character currently being played by her former GH co-star Natalia Livingston. The character is named Taylor Walker. Here’s the news bite from SOAP OPERA DIGEST ONLINE, more below the cut: Huge DAYS Casting Change! Soap Opera Digest has learned that Emmy winner Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily/Rebecca, GH), who just started airing three weeks ago as DAYS’s Taylor, has been let go and replaced with another Emmy winner who used to call Port Charles home — Tamara Braun (ex-Ava, DAYS; ex-Carly, GH et al). Braun appeared as Ava in 2008 and took home a golden trophy for her Salem performances in 2009. She will start taping today; look for her to first air in late April. “It was decided to take the character of Taylor in a new direction,” explains Co-Executive Producer Gary Tomlin. “Natalia Livingston is an amazing actress and a consummate professional. She is a class act and everyone at the studio adores her.” SOURCE I want to thank Lisa for the heads up on this news. While I would have loved to have seen Ava back in Salem, it’s good news that Tamara will once again be gracing our screens and rest assured, TAMARA OBSCURA will be here to keep you up on Tamara’s new role.    Well Dianne…we had a hunch didn’t we when Tamara started popping up in public again. I’m very excited to hear she will be on Days again, even though I’m not sure about her taking over the part of Taylor instead of bringing Ava back. I like Natalia as Taylor. Just this week the character Taylor met E.J. and seems instantly smitten, as does E.J. with Taylor. I hope Days doesn’t give us another love triangle with Taylor, Nicole & E.J. Hearing the writers are going to take the character Taylor in a different direction is intriguing. Can’t wait to see Tamara in April and see what she does with Taylor. YAY YAY and more YAY for Tamara’s return to my screen!!

   I believe you did say something like that when you emailed me back in what was it, November?

   It’s been too long a drought don’t you think? I know here at Tamara Obscura, it’s been downright tumbleweed-ish. I’m not watching right now because I really don’t care for Natalia. I’ll likely start about a week before Tamara starts, but for now, not intending to. I’ve Youtubed Natalia and not that impressed. But then Amber Tamblyn was MY Emily. Always will be.

   A big YES on Tamara returning to our screens. A win win for us ….. right?
