The latest edition of Soap Opera Digest has a retrospective of the history of LGBTQ in soap operas. The significant mention from ALL MY CHILDREN is Eden Riegel as being one of the first lesbians in daytime. She was very significant due to her being the daughter of none other than Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). In the pictorial it mentions the first lesbian wedding in daytime. Of course the other half of that was our own Tamara Braun as Reese Williams. There’s no text link to the press section since the article indirectly mentions Tamara.

There’s not much in the history of soaps that is worth celebrating, however, today is one of the most monumental moments in soap opera history. On this day nine years ago ALL MY CHILDREN reached an unheard of peak with the first LGBTQ wedding. With the first real “out” character of Bianca Montgomery played by the beautiful Eden Riegel, soap scribe and ALL MY CHILDREN creator Agnes Nixon created for her one of the most controversial soap heroines. It became difficult to tell Bianca’s story without really allowing her the same moments in the story as her fellow characters did in terms of getting married and settling down to have a real family. It wasn’t until 2008 when the show brought on Tamara fresh off of her role as Ava Vitali on DAYS OF OUR LIVES to play the character of architect Reese Williams who would sweep Binx off her feet and make an honest woman out of her. The nuptials of these two characters made for one of the most history making moments in television history with finally acknowledging the relevance of same-sex couples in a medium that only acknowledged the classic heterosexual unions. I choose to forget what came after since it was sacriledge what was done to Reese and Bianca. Instead I choose to focus in on the incredible moments in television. So here’s to Tamara Braun and Eden Riegel. Thank you for braving to bring us something that is of historic value, showing it is not wrong to love someone who is of your own sex. In fact it’s, well…. normal. What a wonderful moment to remember. Thank you Tamara and thank you Eden.

Finally got those computer issues figured out and was able to get the work done. Here’s Tamara’s episode for now yesterday. While I liked the scenes with Drew (Billy Miller), I’m still getting a Carly feel from how Tamara is playing “Kim”. I keep seeing Tamara as a single Carly raising Morgan on her own. Whatever that concoction is that is playing “Carly” I’ll never figure it out. But each time I watch I’m seeing Carly with Morgan on her own. I wanted to take part in the live Tweet with her yesterday, but two things stopped me: 1) I was feeling a little under the weather, and 2) I’m not sure I could keep my tongue when it comes to this silliness of having her come back to play another character. It still feels so wrong.

We got our one episode a week quota with Tamara today. Don’t know about you but I’m getting tired of this serious lack of story for her. Do these idiots not know they have Tamara Braun on this show? Today on Twitter Tamara praised the work of Michelle Stafford (Nina). I asked when we’ll be getting from her the quality of story like The Panic Room. She didn’t answer. Though we’re in for a treat tomorrow. Tamara will be live tweeting during the show. So wherever you are please make sure you’re here tomorrow and you’ll get to talk to Tamara.

I’ve completed clipping and uploading Tamara’s episodes of DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Ava Vitali from March 2008. It’s been a tough go getting all these clips together and straightened out. Having moved computers at least twice since 2008 I’ve had to save my data to three separate external drives, and I’ve had a hard time finding all complete episodes. The original episodes were pretty badly clipped up as I was doing all that work on Windows Movie Maker. I’ve since bought a new program that makes the clips much cleaner as you’ve seen from her current work as Kim Nero on GENERAL HOSPITAL. There might be some glitches in the editing due to trying to get them done. I know there’s one with a bit of a commercial with a cute animated bunny. But then who doens’t love animated bunnies. Enjoy.

I’ve completed uploading of Tamara’s February 2008 episodes DAYS OF OUR LIVES in her Emmy Award Winning role of Ava Vitali to the media section. March 2008 to come soon.

Here finally is the media for Tamara’s last episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL. So sorry this was so late but my host finally got on their game and fixed what was wrong in the “back end”. Please feel free to click on the links to get to the gallery and the video of the day. Also I wanted to let you know that TAMARA BRAUN ONLINE will not go offline. I was able to get enough donations to keep us up for at least another year. For that I’m very thankful to Candace, Sam, Inuk, and the others who wished to remain anonymous. You can still help out by donating to the site via the donation link in the sidebar to the bottom of the page. Please feel free to donate whatever you feel you would like to. It would help out so much in keeping the site online and for me to be able to bring you the high quality content you’ve grown accustomed to receiving.

Another day where Tamara is supporting other characters instead of driving her own stories. Maybe we Tamara fans will finally get the story we came back to GENERAL HOSPITAL for….. Nahhhhh. We don’t matter it seems. Onwards.
