05/08/2008: I wanted to let you know that I know I haven't replaced the selected photo in the box below this one. I love the intimacy between Tamara and Stephen in their alter egos of Ava and Steve. Let me live in my fantasies for a while longer, then I'll change it. I've waited for this for a very long time and, well...what's the harm?
I've decided to leave up my contact information in this section. I little easier to find than scrolling to the bottom of the page. One could potentially get carpal finger with my postings. Send me your platitudes, praises, a really nice cheesecake or a box of Fruit Loops. I won't mind. So, here's the contact info:CONTACT ME.
COMING SOON Come and read the exclusive Tamara Obscura journal. Here, you'll find the webmaster's thoughts on things concerning Tamara and her career, including reviews of Tamara's projects and various other thoughts.

TAMARA OBSCURA QUOTABLES
I'm really looking forward to working with Tamara. I read with some very good actresses. when I heard Tamara was interested, I told Ken [Corday] and Ed [Scott] and Marnie [Saita] I thought she would be great for the role. I remember when she came to GH faced with the task of taking over a difficult role from Sarah Brown who was wonderful. Tamara did an incredible job and made Carly her own. -- Stephen Nichols (SOD - 02/12/2008)

WANTED: TAMARA BRAUN
There are a few items Tamara Obscura is currently looking for. Any clips of Tamara's time on GENERAL HOSPITAL. What I'm looking for is HI QUALITY MPEG clips. The reason for the HQ MPEG clips is because I would like to get screencaptures from them. Lesser quality just end up with broken pixels and blurred caps. So, if anyone has any of these of Tamara's tenure from 02 May 2001 - 15 April 2005, please send them in a zip file to WANTED TAMARA BRAUN. If possible, could you please provide the date the clips you're sending were from. It would help in the archiving of them in the gallery.

In this article, ABC Soaps in Depth revealed a little bit about Tamara's role as Ava. The article is also a little revealing in what Tamara states about her reasons for wanting to take the part of Ava, saying she likes to play characters with layers and to explore what makes them 'tick'. There was also an article in the magazine on Sarah Brown where it discusses her Carly recasts. A small mention of Tamara and her predecessor, Jennifer Bransford. Brown is a little sparse on her thoughts on both Tamara and Jennifer ... the rest is up for debate.

GH TAMARA'S EXCITING SOAP COMEBACK! Former GENERAL HOSPITAL star Tamara Braun (ex-Carly) has returned to dsytime, flipping networks and heading to NBC's DAYS OF OUR LIVES in the role of Ava, a mysterious and troubled woman from Steven's past
The In Depth Story: When Braun — who made her DAYS debut on February 8 — left GH in 2005 to pursue other roles, she said, "I'm not all adverse to doing another soap. I will absolutely always leave that door open." Her goal was to find interesting characters to play, and that is exactly what she found on DAYS. "I always said that if the right tole presented itself at the right time, it's something I'd think about," she says. "They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. When tehy told me about the role and what it was going to be like, how often do you get to play a role like that? It's a great part to sink my teeth into.
"The character sounds very exciting, which is exactly what drew me to it," she continues. "She has layers, which means there's a lot to explore. I think the most interesting characters to play on a soap are those trying to deal with their past and struggle through this life that they have to live. I think she could be a very fascinating character to play. I'm really looking forward to exploring her motivation for why she does what she does."
What, exactly, she "does" and why she does it is the big mystery. "I'm interested in seeing where they want to take her, because really damaged people who do destructive things do it for a reason," says Braun. "It comes from somewhere. So my challenge will be to explore where it comes from and how she executes that on a conscious, subconscious, or unconscious level."
A DAYS spokesperson says Brau's stay is "open-ended."
EXTRA
... ON THE CARLY RECASTS: "Laura Wright is doing such a fantastic job," Brown says of the character's current portrayer, adding that, at one point, she was approached about returning as Carly, "I wish I could say it's weird being there and seeing somebody else playing her, but it's not. [Tamara Braun, Jennifer Bransford and Wright] have all brought different things to the part."
