DAYS OF OUR LIVES NEWS
By Janet Di Lauro
More details emerge about Ava this week: Steve tells Abe about his past with the mystery woman, and Abe reveals Ava has a rap sheet a mile long. But Tamara Braun remains as cryptic as her enigmatic alter ego.
WEEKLY: Is having her replationship with Steve taken away from her what sent Ava over the edge?
BRAUN: I believe that's what did it. Ava loves Steve, who's actually Patch to her. she loves him deeply and feels she was left [by him]. She wants him back and wants answers.
WEEKLY: What's it like playing someone so no-holds-barred?
BRAUN: It's fun. It gives a certain freedome to just work and not worry about where it takes me. It's always a lot more fun to play a bad girl than a good girl, although it's easer to be loved playing a good girl. This character will, hopefully, become someone you love to hate.
WEEKLY: As Steve tells Abe about his past with Ava, will there be any flashbacks?
BRAUN: Yes. There are some awsome flashbacks, and they are nice. They're small snippets of times before, of true love, of happy times, of good times, of fun times. They show a different side to Ava and to Patch. They show that they had something real.
WEEKLY: Of course, Ava's not so happy now that Steve has reconciled with Kayla.
BRAUN: Would anybody be happy if they thought they were left for somebody else?
WEEKLY: While Steve is concerned about Ava's wrath and Kayla's safety, Ava has actually come to the wrong conclusion that Hope is his wife. How?
BRAUN: Ava sees Steve and Hope together and forms a judgment based on that. she believes Hope is the reason for her pain.
WEEKLY: What's aav's goal? Does she want to get rid of Hope?
BRAUN: Ava wants to get Patch back and she will justify her actions and do whatever it takes to do that. Hope is definitely an obstacle Ava has to get through.
WEEKLY: Viewers also learn that Ava is being held by her father and watched by his guards. Are they worried about her mental state?
BRAUN: There's a long history between Ava and her guards. They genuinely care about and are concerned for her. Ava has definitely been tormented by Patch's disappearance.
WEEKLY: Ava tries to sweet-talk her guards into helping her reunite with Steve. do they comply?
BRAUN: You'll have to wait and see. Ava does what she thinks is right. Patch was the love of her life. She was completely heartbroken by his leaving. She's a determined woman who's pretty strong in her convictions. She wants what she lost.
WEEKLY: And how does she feel about the woman in the way of attaining that goal?
BRAUN: She's completely jealous of them. Aa wouldn't admit that to herself. But me, Tamara, playing the part, knows she's completely jealous. What Ava feels about these women in the way is that they need to be removed.
