HOPE IS SHOT!
Bo and Kayla infiltrate the Vitali compound this week, determined to rescue Hope and Steve. Too bad Ava ends up shooting Hope...
"She's crazy," states Kristian Alfonso (Hope).
Ava starts to unravel after Angelo tells her they have visitors. Steve and Hope, who are locked up, "overhear and are like, 'Hey! What's going on?'" recounts Alfonso. "They're thinking the cavalry has arrived. Someone is here to help them."
When Ava opens the door, Hope and Steve try a getaway, but more guards show up, and "The next thing you know, they're tied up," says Alfonso. "Hope and Steve are trying to free themselves from the ropes when, lo and behold, Kayla and Bo show up with guns."
As Kayla and Bo untie their spouses, Kayla tells Ava she is Steve's wife.
"Ava is totally confused," admits Alfonso, noting that Hope and company continue with their escape plan. "Bo, Hope, Steve and Kayla realize they have to get out of there quick before Angelo comes back with this crew of men. They're just about to leave when Kayla bends over in pain. Everyone's attention falters for a moment as they tedn to Kayla. No one realizes Kayla has put down her gun."
Suddenly, Ava fires at Hope. Steve rushes Ava, while Kayla and Bo race to help Hope, who is struck in the shoulder. When Ava's guards arrive and surround the foursome, Ava orders them killed.
"hope tries to stop what could be truly fatal by changing the subject," explains Alfonso. "She asks Ava to tell them why they should hate Steve, who's about to get them all killed. Hope's trying to get Ava to talk. She's playing a psychological game with her to buy time."
Ava falls for it and recounts the tale of being left at the altar by Steve.
"Ava is obviously in a lot of pain and they feel for her," admits Alfonso. "But at the same time, ti's not a tremendous amount of sympathy, because their lives are in danger."
Particularly Hope's, as she continues to bleed from her gunshot wound. The Four Musketeers realize they have to find a way to overpower Ava and her band of thugs.
"They're ready to fight," maintains Alfonso. "It's their only way out of there."
THE BIG BANG
Hope also took a bullet back in 1985, when Stefano's minions (Nurse Honeycutt and Jimmy) held her and a drunken bo hostage and demanded Shane exchange a powerful prism for their freedom. Bo turned the tables on the duo attacking Jimmy, whole Hope frended for herself against Honeycutt. A struggle ensued, Hope was shot and rushed to the hospital for emergeny surgery. She survived, of course, and a grateful Bo rewarded his Fancy Face with an engagement ring and a marriage proposal.
