I’m sure you’re aware that we finally have a new layout for the site. I thought it was about time since the last one went up many moons ago. I loved the work Christina did, however, I thought a new fresh look was long overdue. I hope you like it. I also wanted to let you know there will be new things you’ll be seeing on the site including new featured images on the posts and pages. Next I’ve created a new multimedia section for the site. This includes a video archive, an icons archive as well as the newly revamped press section. I wanted everything to be the same across the board so when you go to those areas you’ll see what I mean. I still have many tweaks to do across the many places so please be a little patient. To get to the new multimedia site, please click on the graphic below. All three of those sections are being housed on the tamarabraun.org domain. Lastly I have some other things that need to go up on the site over the next few days so sit back and relax. Thanks for staying with me lo these many years and thank you for your continued love for Tamara and her work.

I’m not sure if anyone was aware that Tamara made a guest appearance on the Amazon Prime show BOSCH starring the amazing actor Titus Welliver (Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, Brooklyn South). I know I forgot to add it to Tamara’s upcoming projects in the sidebar. The reason for that I’ll tell you in a moment. Tamara played the part of Helen Archer, a former ex-military who is also a recovering alcoholic. It was only one scene but she was really good. For those who cannot get Amazon Prime, I have the clip in post for you. Though I would encourage you to go and get a subscription to Amazon Prime to watch the entire series. Now as for the site news (aforementioned reason). I’m planning on a revamp of the layout. I think this one has been up long enough. It’s lasted through Tamara’s three DAYS OF OUR LIVES runs and her ALL MY CHILDREN and I think it’s time for a fresh look on both the main site and the gallery. So please stay tuned for that. In the meantime here are the screencaps and the clip. Edited: I know that the clip is outside the regular post box, but that is just a temporary thing for now. When I upload the new layout it’ll fit in just fine. Thanks for putting up with it for the short-term. Enjoy.

I know there’s been no news or any posts since July, but there’s been nothing really to report. As you can see from the sidebar, Tamara does have some new things coming up and I’m still trying to find a copy of HER DARK PAST which is the Untitled Marvista Entertainment Project in the sidebar. And Tamara has DEAD TRIGGER coming up, plus an appearance on the Amazon original show BOSCH with Titus Welliver. TAMARA OBSCURA will be there for you in that regard. But to the nature of this post, I’ve been spending the better part of the past Christmas/New Years holidays setting up a new and more permanent Press Archive for the site. I have things all over the place in different folders within the site, but still nothing set up that I’m happy with. So after about a dozen tries, we have a new and improved Press Archive with a cleaner interface and something I’m finally happy with. I still have a ton to add including over 500 articles I inherited from Hurley when she passed her site’s content over to me. Please be patient as I get that stuff added. I decided to build the Press Archive on the TAMARABRAUN.ORG domain. With the possibility it might run some six or seven hundred pages, I didn’t want this site to become cluttered. I thought I’d utilize the domain I inherited from Hurley for this. That way everything can be kept there and tidy. I hope you like the new archive. Please let me know what you think in the comments section. To get there please click the image below.

It was a difficult decision I grappled with when I decided to write this post. You might have noticed that updates of screencaps have been a little sporadic, if not lacking and I truly have to apologize for that lapse. The reason is because I’m really having a difficult time with Tamara’s return to DAYS OF OUR LIVES in her Emmy Winning role of Ava Vitali. That difficulty has been not with Tamara’s work, but with the story line in general. When word came last July that Tamara was coming back to the show, I was so overjoyed. Considering what happened to me earlier in the year, the death of my mother, being able to see Tamara again was that salve I needed for a wounded soul. So like I know most of you I waited patiently for her December return date. I admit I was a little dismayed at the lack of press for her return. There was once a time when a big return like this would get the full court press and all the remaining soap publications would feature a return article. There was one major interview in SOAP OPERA DIGEST, but for the most part they all have been pretty thin in terms of any excitement. Certainly with the waning interest in soap operas in general, one would have hoped that there would be some modicum of interest given how much Tamara is respected within that community, or that her Emmy win would be reason enough to warrant a few articles instead of just one major one. But then comes this article on Daytime Confidential‘s website about DAYS being told to shut down writing until a deal can be reached.

Days of Our Lives writers, put down your pens, er, keyboards. I’ve learned the team led by Josh Griffith and Dena Higley has been told to stop writing until a new deal is reached between NBC, Sony and Corday Productions. The 50-year-old sudser has been written through September 2016.

Last month, NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt and Entertainment President Jennifer Salke told TVLine they were happy with the soap ahead of starting negotiations this month to keep DAYS on the Peacock network. Here’s hoping a new pact can be reached soon.

Despite the positive hope for renewal there is little to be hopeful for from the message boards I’ve visited and or post(ed) to daily. Some are saying the show is done, and I really can’t say I care. With the exception of the actors, stage hands, and other crew who would be out of work, I have to say with the absolute unoriginality of the current stories as well as the lack of coherency of many of the characters and their motivations, most acting out of character I’m not surprised.

I belonged to the Soapcentral message board until today. After five days of debating whether Ava raped Steve (Stephen Nichols), I’m left with a profound state of ennui. Yes they’re calling it rape. Apparently according to many of the posters most of them Steve and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) fans, they believe that Ava raped Steve. This fills me with both anger and something akin to confusion as to what direction Ava’s return was to go in. Given her previous run as Ava (February 8 2008 – August 04 2008) I was hoping for something for Tamara that would push Ava into a bit of human conflict in who she’d be this time around. With Tamara’s run as Taylor in 2011 and how much that story line fizzled with unfulfilled promises and again from 2008, I had hoped the powers that be at DAYS, NBC and Sony would have realized the gold they have in Tamara and the possibility of an Ava and Steve pairing enough to dare to break up the iconic Steve and Kayla in order to bring together two amazing talents who’d be capable of shaking the show up. Instead was I was given was a sham yet again and a huge sense of disappointment at the end of today’s episode. The utter lack of concern from Steve for Ava and the devastation Ava felt at finding out their son was dead. While Tamara killed it, as she always does, I felt a break in me that has left me feeling very disillusioned.

Well, we’re still on and I’m glad because I’m going to get the chance to wish Tamara a Happy 43rd Birthday. Gosh she barely looks 30. She’s looking so lovely these days. What’s her secret? I’m hoping she is celebrating with her furbaby and with family and friends. Please feel free to click on the banner below and go to her Twitter account and wish her the best.

I wanted to let you know about something that might be happening on 14 April, 2014. I’m having a little trouble getting my webhosting fees together to renew my hosting for another year so TAMARA OBSCURA will be going dark on that date, or shortly thereafter. I won’t be able to get it back up for two weeks until I get paid. If you’d like to donate something to help me out please feel free to scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit the donate button in the sidebar in the “Site Info/Disclaimer & Donate” area. This is the first time I’ve had to ask for donations to keep us up, but I thought I’d throw out the bone. Thanks to anyone willing to help out.

I just wanted to pimp my new site to GAME OF THRONES actor Richard Madden. Richard played the part of Robb Stark, the King of the North in the series. Richard’s character was killed off in the ninth episode titled The Rains of Castamere. It was the infamous Red Wedding that bummed out a bunch of the book readers some twelve years ago. There are some pretty funny reaction videos on Youtube regarding this episode. Search for “Game of Thrones – Red Wedding Reaction Videos” and have fun. Richard is one of those amazing new actors I’m truly hoping Tamara gets to work with someday. Considering they both trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in England, I’d kill to see them in something together. Anyway I hope you don’t mind me pimping it. Yeah, I know…I haven’t done a new layout for this site in eons, what are you doing making a new site? Point taken. I’m hoping to get a new layout up this century. Stay tuned.

I wanted to let you know that I’ve renewed the domains of tamara-braun.com and tamarabraun.org for another year. This means TAMARA OBSCURA will be here for another year to keep you up-to-date on all things Tamara Braun. You’ll also be able to view the gallery and the main media site at OBSCURE MEDIA and TAMARA SOAP MEDIA. I hope we have another productive year here as Tamara continues to pursue other interesting projects. I know I can hardly wait. Thanks guys for the ride so far, but as they say, it ain’t over yet!
