SUCCESS!!!. I was able to record the 7:00 PM version of Days of our Lives, and the screencaps turned out better than I'd believed they would. I'm a very happy camper tonight. It looks like Ava is finally being made to take responsibility for what she started two and a half months ago when she spied Steve through that pub window in Ireland. Little did we know then what Ava would wrought on certain Salemites, particularly poor Hope and Steve. Today Abe and Roman read Ava her Miranda warnings and took her to the Salem PD in handcuffs.

I wanted to give the heads up. I had a cable outage today. There was some maintenence that needed to be done on the lines and my cable was out for most of the day until just a little before 4:00 PM on the East Coast. I usually record Days of our Lives at 3:00 PM on the East Coast. It will be on later at 7:00 PM on the East Coast, but I'm not too sure of the quality of the signal. The one at three is usually the best choice. If the signal is not good at 7:00 PM, I'll have to record it tomorrow at 1:00 PM and also at the usual time. My deepest apologies for not being able to do them as usual. Please take care and we'll see what happens at 7:00. (Crosses fingers).

Well, our girl is in deep doo doo. Abe and Roman found the Vitali(e) compound and rescued Bo, Hope, Kayla and Steve. Abe took Ava into custody wearing her bathrobe. Poor girl didn't even get the chance to dress more appropriately. I have some speculation about what is going to happen in the forthcoming weeks when Papa Vitali(e) arrives. Well, I went screencap crazy again. Today was another one of those days where my thumb was just parked on the left click. Too much steam and looking at Tamara and Stephen in another one of their war of wills as Ava and Steve. Too much steam and sexual tension. Have I said lately I'm loving it? If I haven't, I'll say I'm lo-ving it!!! Okay, that's out of my system. Now I'll get to the reason you're stopping by: Today's day ahead caps. Again, so sorry I haven't had the time to do the clipping up. I've gotten behind. My mom's been very sick of late and I can only get to the caps when I get home from taking care of her. TAMARA OBSCURA || "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" 04/21/2008 DAY AHEAD CAPS
Here are the screencaps for Monday 21 April 2008. There was some heavy fireworks on the show and Tamara was quite the spark to it. Some amazing acting from Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans. Enjoy.
My apologies for not posting that there were updates to the gallery. I've been very busy of late, and it seems my time isn't as expansive as it used to be. So for my faux pas, here are at least, the screencaps since the last update.
A word about the overt abuse of the capping device: I know there are a lot of caps to be seen. My policy is that I wish to provide what it takes so that if you put the control in the gallery on slideshow, you get a little mini movie. Also, I am just loving the intimate scenes between Tamara and Stephen Nichols and I went a little 'cap crazy'. I can't help it. I'm loving seeing Tamara being handled by Stephen. I just love it. I know Lisa Nichols, Mary Beth Evans and Tamara's significant other would likely have me shot on sight, but I don't care. These scenes have been a dream in the making for me and I intend to enjoy them for as long as they air.
About clips: I'm still having difficulty getting the new clipper thingy to work for me. I'd like to be able to get the backlog up no later than Sunday for you. I've also got a whole whack of clips from the current caps in the gallery and I can promise you, I AM working on them. I'll post them and the link to the Youtube page as soon as I get them up. The clips on their own will be in the gallery as soon as I can get them uploaded to the server. Thanks for your understanding.

I'm sorry for the lack of clips, but I've been having a problem with a new software program I purchased. I've tried doing them on Windows Movie Maker, but for some reason it's just not working any more. It won't allow for MPEG versions, which is what I record on with the tuner I have connected from my cable box to my computer. I'm hoping that I can get a handle on the new program by the weekend. I'll have all clips done and up on TAMARA OBSCURA's Youtube account. I'll be posting when I get the clips done. In the meantime, you'll find all screencaps of Tamara's work on Days since the last update on 27 March. Thanks for understanding and for sticking with me. I'm also in the process of deciding whether to do away with the forum and creating a blog for the site where you can engage in conversation with me over the site and Tamara's work.

According to sources, Tamara's 'daddy' on Days has been cast. It's Joe Penny from the eighties NBC show Riptide. Joe will be playing Martino Vitale. Not too sure how long he'll be on, but we'll finally get to meet Ava's father.
I know these aren't 'day-ahead' as I've promised, but I had a problem in my editing software. The sound codec refused to 'click in' and I ended up having to reclip the media from 03/26/2008. My sincerest apologies for the glitch. It must be Mercury in retrograde. So here are the corrected clips from yesterday:

I just wanted to say something about Tamara's scenes yesterday (today). I was very impressed with how she moved seamlessly between Ava's manic state to her more placid moments of remembering her time with 'Patch' (Stephen Nichols). At times she seemed like a young girl in the first throws of love, yet she seemed confused and angry about why she was feeling like she is. At times I saw hints of Tamara's first role in The Sentinel as Stacey Neumann. As Stacey, Tamara played a young woman who had just come out of a coma due to a car accident she suffered as a twelve year-old. Watching Tamara's ease between her scenes with Kristian Alfonso, I was so taken by her ability to go inside Ava's consciousness and let us see the conflict. I'm wondering if Tamara is using her knowledge as a psyche major within her performance as Ava? I'd have to bet an equivocal YES.
By the way, I'm sure you're looking at the over four hundred screencaps and wondering, "This girl has got to be nutty herself, taking so many"? Well, you'd be half right. I really felt the excessive capping was necessary. I really wanted to show the diverse emotions Tamara showed us yesterday (today). This is the skill of a trained actress loving her craft. I give kudos to Tamara for knowing when to give it to us, and when to pull it back.
So very sorry for the lack of updates yesterday. As I said on Friday, I had company over for the Easter Holiday. It was my mother who I took home later today, that's the reason I wasn't able to get to the caps and clips for today. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and you're not too hepped up on all the eggs, jelly beans, chocolate and whatnot. I know I am! Another reason the update is late is because I just bought a new clip editing software and I'm trying to get used to it. Unfortunately, it's still illuding me. Though hopefully not for long. I'm hoping I can improve the quality of the clips I provide for you guys, but I've been told the quality of the caps and clips are quite good. (No patting myself on my own back...Okay, I will....) My appreciation to my visitors who have written to me to compliment me on the new design and content, and to my subscribers to the site's TAMARA OBSCURA 2006 Youtube account. Your support has been very much taken to heart and has made me more intent on providing you the best Tamara Braun material you would expect from me.
I'd also like to give a HUGE shout out to Youtube's Powers That Be for increasing the file size per upload. You still can't have a file any larger than ten minutes in length, but the file size has increased from 100MB to a whopping 1GB. It makes it easier to provide fuller clips in that I don't have to continually try to pare them down to nothing. I bow down, bow down. LOL!!!

Tamara wasn't on Days today, so I thought I'd give you these to view. They're from an event she attended way back in September 2007 at the Menemsha Studio City CAL opening of this new eco-friendly boutique. I love how casual Tamara looks. The crochet dress with the black what looks to be either tight slacks or leotards with the matching shoes, is just sublime. Tamara knows how to dress comfortably and with class. I've never seen someone who can put together things quite the way Tamara can. So, enjoy.

I really thought long and hard about this idea of posting 'day-ahead' clips and caps. Apparently, I've upset Homeland Security about my decision to show Tamara's American fans what we here in Canada get to see, namely Days of our Lives a day ahead of the US viewers. I'm not exactly sure why we get them, all I know is we do. I thought perhaps I should abandon this practice and stick with the so-called 'conventional' way of doing things. But then, I've never been considered conventional. And some 5000 gallery views and over 20 000 views of the clip(s) on the site's Youtube account, I've decided to continue posting them due to the kind compliments I've received for their posting. If you do not wish to be spoiled, there is always that little thing called free will to not click on the links I provide to the relevant areas.

[ 309 ] Screencaps from 03/13/2008 DAYS OF OUR LIVES Episode
As you can likely tell, there's been a huge change here at TAMARA OBSCURA. A change that has been too long in the coming. The main reason for the lack of updates to the main site is that I've been very busy with personal family issues to deal with the day-to-day running of a website. There's been two deaths, a hip break, and a few illnesses in the family to keep me busy for a while. However, I've tried to keep the gallery updated for you. As any of the regular visitors could tell, I've posted the various public events Tamara has attended along with caps and clips of Tamara's episodic television work such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Without a Trace and currently, Tamara's new role as Ava Vitale on the NBC soap opera Days Of Our Lives. It's the hope, at least, that I can keep things updated more by the new layout and the new coding I've incorporated into the site. It will make things a heck of a lot easier to keep you updated on all things Tamara. I am also in the process of creating a website for Tamara's General Hospital co-star Ted King. You can find it here: THE TED KING PORTAL, which I hope you'll visit once it goes live. There's over 2000 photos already in the gallery and growing.
There's also going to be a bit of a difference here at TAMARA OBSCURA. While visiting other sites on the web, I've noticed they incorporate a blogging system in order to keep their visitors up to date on the site's goings on. While I tried to incorporate this, I was unsuccessful in making it fit with the way I want to present the site. So I've decided to abandon the blogging element and use the FORUM in order to post the updates. On the colourerd bar below, you'll find the date the update was posted and the comment link to the forum where you may leave a comment or read other entries from people who have also left comments. The forum will be left open for anyone to view. There will be a special section created for the various updates so they'll be easier for you to find. I hope you like this idea as I really want to encourage discourse within the many fans Tamara has. This way you can discuss the new uploads and additions freely and openly with each other.
One major thing to let you know about, I haven't had the chance to transfer a lot of the pages within the site to the new layout, so please I ask your patience while I do this. Slowly, you'll see the changes taking effect and I hope you'll enjoy the way I've decided to 'clean up' the place. So if you notice some hinky things going on, don't be alarmed. Everything IS in control. But then, what's a little organized chaos occasionally?
Over the next little while, you'll be seeing a lot of updates to the gallery. I've acquired a lot of new photos of Tamara as well as many articles from the various soap opera magazines on the stands. I've also been able to get a hold of some of Tamara's hard-to-find shows such as Unhappily Ever After and The Sentinel. I also have many, many, many new ideas for TAMARA OBSCURA, which I hope you'll love as I really want this site to reflect Tamara.
Lastly, I want to thank Kathy at Washed Away Productions for her assistance in the coding and layout of the body of the site. The headers are mine. I hope you like them.
