Hello and welcome to 2009. So sorry for the lack of updates but I’ve been getting over an intestinal bug that’s kind of kept me down since before New Years. Though I’ve been trying to get the screencaps done and the clips up at OBSCURE MEDIA, that’s about all I’ve been doing. I’m hoping you had a restful holiday season and are ready for 2009. I know I am.Okay, not too much to talk about this time around. I’m so far behind that I think it would be hard to really encapsulate what’s gone on since I last updated. I think I’ll just say that I’m so glad that Zach (Thorsten Kaye) is sticking up for Reese and telling Erica (Susan Lucci) to get her nose out of Reese and Bianca’s business. I will also say that I’m so glad the writers have finally nailed down on screen what the exact nature of Reese and Zach’s relationship is. No more speculation about Reese wanting to jump Zach’s bones or Zach wanting to make out with Reese. I think the word Tamara used is platonic. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Now of course according to the previews for this week (can be found in the sidebar under “Featured Video”) there’s more speculation that Reese and Zach will ‘have it on’. All I can say is OI! Enough with the teasing. We know it’s not ever gonna happen. Tons of stuff for you in this posting. So without further adieu, I’ll get to it. One note though, I’m not going to be including the usual screencaps from the individual days. Considering how far I’m behind in posting, it’ll take up too much space. So here’s the update…. “You must remember this, a kiss is still a kiss….Okay, I can state with absolute certainty that I wish now that Tamara had been brought on for Thorsten Kaye. I know, I’m a traitor to the cause. Given I’m in a same-sex sitiation (spelled wrong by design) myself, one would think I’d be trumpeting this storyline, however, given the hotness I witnessed today….. I want Tamara and Thorsten as a couple as Reese and Zach. I think it might have to do with Thorsten’s initials. What is it about Tamara and her chemistry with those with the TK pursuasion? The other “TK”, in case you don’t know, is Ted King, Tamara’s co-star on GENERAL HOSPITAL. I know, I know, obligatory Ted King reference. But hey, what can I do. I really did love the interchange between Bianca and Reese today. All the Erica angst was cute. The way Eden described how Erica had the book all made up with even a section on candelabras was sweet. You’ll find more screencaps than usual of Eden due to her descriptive dialogue concerning Erica. I’m constantly amazed at the realness both Tamara and Eden infuse Reese and Bianca with. I love the naturalism of this storyline, though I’m getting a bit tired of Reese’s family/fiancee showing up just at the right time. I’m hoping that after Simon departs, we get to see more of Bianca and Reese’s love and devotion. The irony as of this posting: I’m watching an episode of “Eli Stone” from the first season DVD set I received from my mother for Christmas. There is an episode called “Patience” dealing with a same-sex chimpanzee case Eli (Jonny Lee Miller) handed off to Taylor Wethersby (Natasha Henstridge) and Matt Dowd (Sam Jaeger). And those people that would deny same-sex couplings say it’s unnatural. At least Steve and Pete will be together, according to this judge’s ruling. And Prop 8 is still being litigated. Incredible. TAMARA OBSCURA II COMMENTARY
I’d like to comment further on the scene from yesterday’s show when Reese and Zach ‘kissed’. First of all, it really wasn’t a ‘kiss’ rather a bit of a nudge and a small peck. My guess from re-watching the scene a couple of times is that Zach whispered something in Reese’s ear when he pulled her close. Though to most, this scene may seem inappropriate, to me it wasn’t. I found the scene to be very sweet. Two people, and eek gads, a man and a woman shared a very sweet moment. I didn’t see anything disgusting or wrong about it. We all know Zach is devoted to Kendall. The scenes of Zach holding his vigil at Kendall’s beside has been evidence enough at that enduring love they have. Being that I’m not a regular watcher of AMC, I would assume that Zach and Kendall are in love. But for me, I feel there is sufficient chemistry between Tamara and Thorsten to warrant a romantic pairing if not for the other issues such as Kendall and Bianca. My comment about the hotness of the scene between Tamara and Thorsten was not to spark a huge debate. It was said because I know what Tamara can do. She’s done it on every soap she’s been on General Hospital with Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), Ted King (Lorenzo/Luis Alcazar), even the less than mediocre pairing with Shaun Benson (Steven Lars). Then to Days with Stephen Nichols (Steve Johnson), James Scott (EJ Welles) and Drake Hogestyn (John Black). Given too how really isolated AMC has kept Tamara in not allowing her other scenes outside of those with Zach and Bianca, one cannot help but see the obvious. Again, I’m not saying that there is going to be some big hot and heavy love affair with Zach and Reese. I’m only saying that there are possbilities. NOTE: I erroneously said that Tamara would be on today. My apologies. The show is a repeat of the tornado episode where Zach delievered Gabrielle.
