TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA SIGNING UP FOR “NECESSARY ROUGHNESS”

Tamara let it slip at her July 22 event that she had something coming up. Apparently she’s signing up for NECESSARY ROUGHNESS on USA. Not sure if it’s a longterm role or just a guest starring. Here is the information. More below the cut.

Necessary Roughness Exclusive: Meet Dr. Dani’s Sister!

Look who’s coming to dinner on Necessary Roughness!

General Hospital alum Tamara Braun has been cast as Dr. Dani’s younger sister, Ronnie, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Ronnie is described as sassy, sexy and someone who loves making unannounced visits. She will first pop up in Episode 14 of Season 2, which all during the second half of the season.

In addition to playing Carly Corinthos on General Hospital from 2001 to 2005, Braun also appeared on All My Children from 2008 to 2009 and, most recently, on Days of Our Lives last year.

Necessary Roughness airs Wednesdays at 10/9c on USA.

So are we excited? I know I am. As usual, I’ll be providing the latest in Tamara’s work and TAMARA OBSCURA will have the screencaps and clip up as soon as possible after she airs.

TAMARA OBSCURA || NEW INTERVIEW WITH TAMARA

I’ve been a little remiss at posting here due to the recent issues I had with the images I posted from Tamara’s play. The thing that has been running through my mind is, “How to proceed in terms of bringing Tamara’s fans what they’ve come to expect here?” And with good reason. So I’ve been juggling the pros and the cons in figuring out how to balance the needs of this site as well as those of the original authors/photographers and such of the various things that make up a fan website. So what I’ve decided to do is change the policy here at TAMARA OBSCURA. From here on I will post the content in the gallery or media sites and include in the post or page the original source, therefore any complications can be addressed by the fact I have posted the original source as well as comply with the nature of what is termed “Fair Use” for the purpose of furthering the understanding and education of people on the career of Tamara Braun. So without further adieu. I have an interview with Tamara on a wide range of things. First is her play, TENNESSEE IN THE SUMMER where she explains her character Woman. She then goes into the survival of the Soap Opera genre as well as her role in the groundbreaking storyline involving the first Same-Sex marriage on daytime. Tamara also gives us a bit of insight into why she became an actress. I have added the article to the press section as well as cited the original source. Below is a snippet of Tamara’s interview.

Phyllis: Do you prefer acting for television, film or for the stage? Do you prepare for one differently than the other?
Tamara: I like the subtleties that film and TV allow that theatre does not. The camera does not lie. It picks up thought and inner life. But with film you have to wait so long to see the final product. TV airs much quicker than film and daytime…such quick turnaround but often I was too busy to watch.

In theatre, the audience becomes another entity to your performance. You try and not let them change your performance but inevitably one is affected by it. We are affected by people’s energy in life so of course we will be affected in the theatre. If the audience is with you on a certain night it can propel your performance to great heights and if they are not really with you (and the cast takes it in) then unfortunately the performance can feel off…in terms of preferring one more than others… I like them all for the challenges that each bring.

TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA’S LAST (DAY AHEAD) EPISODE

Well, I just got through watching the day-ahead episode of Tamara’s final day on DOOL and I can tell you, they did not kill her off. Taylor lives and has gone off into the Bollywood sunset with Quinn (Bren Foster), Vivian (Louise Sorel) and the newly returned Ivan (Ivan G’Vera). Apparently Ivan is a producer in the lucrative Bollywood film industry and he returned to Salem to reclaim his Madam, Vivian. He has a private plane and along with Ms. Alamain, he’s taking Quinn and Taylor off with him. So Taylor has survived. I have to say, this farewell was way better than Tamara’s first go around as Ava. There is the chance Taylor might return, though considering this so-called ‘new’ path Ken Corday is taking this show on, I doubt it. I think the capper on this departure had to be the final scene Tamara as Taylor had with James Reynolds (Abe Carver). I’ve loved James since I first saw him as Abe back in the 80s, and to have her final scene be with him was sublime but bittersweet. I still think this reboot Corday has launched is a bit premature. All the exits in one fell swoop is a bit too much and to lose such a talent as Tamara is too big a hit. As of tomorrow’s actual NBC network airing, it’ll be my last for DAYS OF OUR LIVES. It’s been a good run, however, Tamara’s presence made the show watchable and for me her final day tomorrow means I’m done. In the coming days I’ll try to get her final months of episodes up in the gallery and in the media section. With not having to record each day it’ll be easier. I also really want to clear all the rough clips off my computer to make some room. So all I can say is this, for all my visitors, stop by Tamara’s TWITTER page and leave her a tweet or two about how much she’ll be missed. I will be doing it right now. Hope to see you soon Tamara. I’m going to miss you each day.

TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA’S LAST AIRDATE ON DOOL

Tamara has tweeted that today was her last tape date. According to what I’ve figured, her final airdate should be around Septebmer 23. I don’t know, but I’m sad to see her go. I blame Ken Corday for not seeing clearly enough to bring her back as Ava, not a recast Taylor. Though it’s been interesting to see her do something so totally different than Ava. Here’s hoping she has her next job all lined up.

TAMARA OBSCURA || HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDEN RIEGEL

Not only is this the first day of a new year, but it is also Eden Riegel’s birthday. I’m sure all Tamara’s fans wish the mom-to-be and Reese Williams’ lady love a fantastic day and hope that Eden has a great day with Andrew (hubby and daddy-to-be) and Riley (puppy-brother-to-be) a great day. Eden, you deserve it. I also want to say that I’m hoping that Heather (Eden’s character on The Young & The Restless) and Ronan (Jeff Branson) really make it. They shine as a couple and I hope TPTB at the Y&R don’t screw up with this one. They probably will, but I can hope can’t I?

Don’t forget to check out my site for Tamara’s DAYS OF OUR LIVES co-star, Stephen Nichols @ RENEGADE ~ STEPHEN NICHOLS ONLINE. The reason for the plug? Stephen is on the same show as Eden Riegel. Ironic that both of Tamara’s ex on-screen loves are on the same show. Of course on DOOL, Tamara played Ava Vitali, the role in which she won her Emmy for Best Supporting Actress on a Daytime Soap Opera. Now all we need is for Tamara to show up on Y&R as a love interest for both Tucker McCall (Stephen’s character) and Heather Stevens (Eden’s character on the show). Ronan and Ashely (Eileen Davidson) who? Just kidding………
