My apologies for the lateness of this post, but I had company for dinner. I had to get everything done after my friends when home. Here is today’s media. I’m sorry for the quick cutting in the clip. The program I use was being a little difficult tonight and I had little patience with it. Hopefully it’s not that bad for you.

The latest edition of Soap Opera Digest has a retrospective of the history of LGBTQ in soap operas. The significant mention from ALL MY CHILDREN is Eden Riegel as being one of the first lesbians in daytime. She was very significant due to her being the daughter of none other than Erica Kane (Susan Lucci). In the pictorial it mentions the first lesbian wedding in daytime. Of course the other half of that was our own Tamara Braun as Reese Williams. There’s no text link to the press section since the article indirectly mentions Tamara.

Happy Anniversary Reese & Bianca :: Celebrating Soaps First Lesbian Wedding

There’s not much in the history of soaps that is worth celebrating, however, today is one of the most monumental moments in soap opera history. On this day nine years ago ALL MY CHILDREN reached an unheard of peak with the first LGBTQ wedding. With the first real “out” character of Bianca Montgomery played by the beautiful Eden Riegel, soap scribe and ALL MY CHILDREN creator Agnes Nixon created for her one of the most controversial soap heroines. It became difficult to tell Bianca’s story without really allowing her the same moments in the story as her fellow characters did in terms of getting married and settling down to have a real family. It wasn’t until 2008 when the show brought on Tamara fresh off of her role as Ava Vitali on DAYS OF OUR LIVES to play the character of architect Reese Williams who would sweep Binx off her feet and make an honest woman out of her. The nuptials of these two characters made for one of the most history making moments in television history with finally acknowledging the relevance of same-sex couples in a medium that only acknowledged the classic heterosexual unions. I choose to forget what came after since it was sacriledge what was done to Reese and Bianca. Instead I choose to focus in on the incredible moments in television. So here’s to Tamara Braun and Eden Riegel. Thank you for braving to bring us something that is of historic value, showing it is not wrong to love someone who is of your own sex. In fact it’s, well…. normal. What a wonderful moment to remember. Thank you Tamara and thank you Eden.

Finally got those computer issues figured out and was able to get the work done. Here’s Tamara’s episode for now yesterday. While I liked the scenes with Drew (Billy Miller), I’m still getting a Carly feel from how Tamara is playing “Kim”. I keep seeing Tamara as a single Carly raising Morgan on her own.
