Tamara To Return To “Days” As Ava Vitali

Good news. Tamara is returning to television, this time back to DAYS OF OUR LIVES as her Emmy Award Winning counterpart Ava Vitali. According to various sources, Tamara has already begun filming her scenes June 17. Her first airdate will be on the December 9, 2015 episode. I know, why so far away? It’s due to the soap’s advanced filming schedule. So we have to wait all that time to see her back as the hopefully back from insanity Ava, though she was the last time we saw her when she left the DiMera mansion. So are we thrilled? I know I am. Here’s hoping this spells the beginning of Tamara’s return to us. We’ve missed you Tamara.

Tamara Braun, who portrayed Mafia princess Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives in 2008, will return for the soap’s upcoming 50th anniversary.

Tamara Braun Returning to ‘Days of our Lives’ in December as Ava Vitali

Posted by Kevin Mulcahy Jr.

Emmy Award-winning actress Tamara Braun is returning to NBC soap opera Days of our Lives in December as Ava Vitali, according to TV Insider, who describes the character as “a pill-popping mob spawn who split town rather than face trial for sabotaging an airplane, an act that led to the death of Grandpa Shawn and two others.”

Braun began shooting June 17 and show up on screen December 9.

She joins the growing list of returning Days actors including Peter Reckell (Bo), Stephen Nichols (Steve), Martha Madison (Belle), Jason Cook (Shawn-Douglas) and Alison Sweeney (Sami).

Braun also briefly appeared on Days in 2011 as Nicole’s sister, Taylor Walker. Her other daytime roles include hellcat Carly Benson on General Hospital and Reese Williams on All My Children.

A Personal Thank You to Tamara and To Dawn

First of all I need to say this. My 91 year-old mother died on Saturday morning, the 16th of May at 1:50 am. I was called by the doctor at the hospital where I’d taken her the previous Monday, and told to get there as soon as I could. I tried to collect myself and headed to the nearby bank to get the money out for cab fare as I don’t have a car. While there two police officers who were in the variety store in the plaza asked me if they could assist me. I was already balling my eyes out because I had a feeling of what was happening. This was about quarter after one that morning. I told them I’d been called and the dire necessity of my getting to the hospital. The man and woman officers promptly put me in the cruiser and drove me to the hospital, running red lights to get me there. I don’t know who they are, but I thank them from the bottom of my heart. Had it not been for them I wouldn’t have been there for my mom when she passed about thirty minutes later. I stayed with her and took the walk down with her before heading home around six am Saturday morning.

I debated whether to say anything on any of my social media accounts, or anywhere else for that matter. But I finally decided I would make a Twitter post about my loss. Sort of mark it in a way. Have at least a mention of it in my timeline as a memory of it. So I had some of my followers offer their condolences including one who I happened to meet, I think, on a message board for DAYS OF OUR LIVES when Tamara was on as Taylor Walker. Her name is Dawn Elicia. She was so sweet in offering her condolences, but she did something that I will never forget, she tweeted Tamara telling her about my mom and Tamara had this to say:

I want to thank Tamara so much for taking the time to say this. You have no idea how much this meant to me. The next two weeks are going to be difficult with the funeral later this week and the settling of her matters next, but I know for a fact that this will carry me as I navigate the difficult emotional waters these next few days. Tamara you are the best. Dawn, no words.

Happy Birthday 2015 Tamara

On behalf of TAMARA OBSCURA, I’d like to wish Tamara the happiest of days. She turns a stunning 44 today. Please help me in wishing her the best on her name day (Game of Thrones reference). Here’s hoping her day is filled with good friends, good wine, many smiles and happy memories. I also hope she has the hugest cake. She deserves the best. Happy Birthday Tamara!

Tamara’s Demo Reel On Vimeo

Hi. Long time no hear. Sorry for the deafening silence but there’s nothing to report. But! I did find something of interest for you. While doing a peruse on the interwebs, I found something I think you’ll like to see. Something fresh. It’s Tamara’s demo reel. What is a demo reel? It’s a collection of clips from any actor or actress’s various performances in television, films, etc. These are given to potential casting agents for them to see a sample of the work the actor/actress has done to see if they’re right for the role they’re going up for. The only thing I’d love to find out about is something on here called GIMME SHELTER. Tamara looks amazing in this. I’ve been trying to find out more about it, so far nada. But you know me, I’ll find it. Here’s the demo reel. The beginning is fun in that Tamara is seen shoving a manhole cover aside and emerging out of the sewer. It ends with her re-entering the sewer. Too funny. Enjoy.

Tamara Takes The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Finally, something new for you. I’m sorry I missed this on the end of August, but I’ve been very busy with other stuff plus some more personal stuff going on. My mom’s been sick and at 90, it’s been very hard dealing with her declining health. So here is Tamara, and you’ll see her puppy roaming around in the back. I don’t know the puppy’s name so don’t ask.

If you’re not going to take the challenge yourself, you can help out by donating to the cause or buy the DVD about Tamara’s friend, Ben Byer [Indestructible :: The Film], or donate to ALS [USA or Canada] in Ben’s name.
