TAMARA OBSCURA || FILM || LITTLE CHENIER DVD PRE-OORDER
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm so looking forward to LITTLE CHENIER. I have already pre-ordered mine and will receive around July 14, about a week before my birthday (July 23rd). I can't think of anything else I'd enjoy more than getting this...even if I have to buy it myself. Tamara's co-stars in the film are Johnathon Schaech, Fred Koeller, Chris Mulkey, Clifton Collins Jr., Isabella Hoffman, Jeremy Davidson, and Fiona Durif, daughter of THE LORD OF THE RINGS and DEADWOOD star Brad Dourif...AKA: The Voice of Chucky. LITTLE CHENIER is directed by Bethany Ashton Wolff, written by Wolff and her brother Jace Johnson, and is produced by Dore Productions, and distributed by Radio London Films. This is the final film depicting the Cajun way of life before the devastating effects of Hurricane Rita that completely wiped out most of the sets and locations where LITTLE CHENIER was filmed.

TAMARA OBSCURA || "DAYS OF OUR LIVES" — 07/07/2008 SCREENCAPS
Happy 4th of July to my American visitors. Hoping your long weekend is going well and you're not over-indulging on the watermelon, hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, and that weekend cheer. Nothing worse than having to overdose on the Alka Selzer afterwards. I hate that! I hope you enjoyed your fireworks.
Not too much happening on DAYS right now. Just a lot of Ava bashing. Seriously, what did they bring Tamara onto the show for anyway, just to have her an abuse receptacle? While I'm thorougly enjoying Tamara on the show, I'm a bit tired, I must say, of the way Ava's story is turning out. The insertion into John and Marlena's story after the build up to Steve's is just beginning to bore. There's no magic with Drake Hogestyn (John) as there was with Stephen (Steve "Patch"). In the waning days of Tamara's time on the show, I'm getting weary of the whole show. The actors are amazing: James Scott (EJ), Arianne Zuker (Nicole), Darin Brooks (Max), Shawn Christianson (Daniel) and a few others, I'm not entirely 'jizzed' by it. The blackout was a bust and this whole 'John breaks the disk and disolves his feelings for Marlena' storyline is wearing a little thin on this viewer. With Tamara's time coming to a close, I want her back with Stephen. There was magic there, an undefinable quotient that just isn't there with Drake. I know it's not Tamara nor her fault the powers that be have decided to go in this direction, but I'd hoped that they'd look back at the potential that was there with the missed opportunity to actually do something with Steve rather than just have the one-eyed one go around spouting "Hey Dude" and have him actually be able to do what Stephen Nichols is capable of. With Days of our Lives on temporary hiatus due to NBC's upcoming Wimbledon Coverage, I thought you might enjoy another kind of match. I love the movie Wimbledon starring the above titled actors. It's a fun look at the sport of tennis with some romance and general fun-spirited poking at the game of the sexes. It also happens to have three of the cutest hunks this side of the north, east, west, and south Pacos: Paul Bettany, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and James McAvoy. Heck, I should also throw in the uber-hottness of Sam Neill and Bernard Hill for good measure. So if you're bored with the standard coverage, check out this movie. It's very good. I should also point out, it also stars Jon Favreau, director of the uber-cool IRONMAN starring Robert Downey Jr.
Did anyone watch Tamara last night on Without a Trace? I did. She broke my heart again. Everytime I see The Lost Boy, I always think of the missed opportunity to see Michael and Carly reunified on General Hospital and what that would have been like with Tamara playing Carly with Dylan Cash as Michael and their dynamite chemistry as mother and son. I'm getting all teary-eyed just thinking about it. And isn't Elijah so adorable? He was played by twins Devin and Dominic Swingler. So cute. Anyway, enough of my mushing. I'll let you get back to your day.

The bronchitis hasn't gotten any better, but my voice is back...thankfully. On this 141st Canada Day in my country (for my United States visitors), it's our version of your 4th of July, I want to wish my fellow Canadians a very Happy Canada Day. Congrats my fellow Canucks. Let the fireworks begin. Ava's been a bit of a little snoop. As spoiled earlier last week, she broke into Rolf's lab and attempted to steel the disk until John caught her. Naughty, naugty girl. Ava begged John to destroy the disk while Marlena banged on the door begging John not to. Quite frankly, I'd love for Ava to take a frying pan to Marlena. Violent I know, but it would solve John's indecision. No preview for Tamara.

I had meant to have these up on Friday, but I'm having a really bad bout with bronchitis, which I thought was a summer cold. I've also got laryngitis, much to the delight of my family and friends. They're basking in the silence...or the raspy voice. So please forgive the lateness of this posting. .... Well, they gone and did it. They brought Ava in on the whole Robo-John story. I started out watching a soap opera and ended up watching Sleeper with Tamara in the Diane Keaton role and Drake Hogestyn in the Woody Allen part. While I love Tamara's ability to ad-lib and be as Mumble in Happy Feet would say, she was being 'spontan-uous', I am really longing for the 'Crazy' Ava back in oh, say April or May. I know, "What's the difference between then and now?" Good question. I really had hoped they wouldn't bring Ava in on the whole Stefano/Phoenix stuff. With word Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) is on his way back to Salem, methinks this might be the way they're going to write out Tamara's character. It sure looked like Ava was trying to disuade John (Drake Hogestyn) from seeking out his past on the disk. According to this week's Soap Opera Digest, it looks like Ava's really going to be working on John, much to Marlena's (Deidre Hall) consternation. A shout out to Dena Higley: Wrap up Steve and Ava please before Tamara leaves this summer. I beseach you! No previews this time around.

Tamara was doing some major league manipulation today. She used some of her wiliest charms on John (Drake Hogestyn). It all had to do with the disc Stefano (Joe Mascolo) had Rolf (William Utay) make of John's memories with Marlena (Deidre Hall). With mere glances and body language, Tamara conveyed Ava's intent on getting John to do what she wants him to do. ***SPOILER ALERT***: Apparently, Ava steals the disc...but to what purpose, it's unclear. One thing I do know about Tamara is that she's knocking these scenes out of the park. It seems as if Drake has to keep playing catch up. But before Tamara leaves, I want a few more scenes with Stephen Nichols. I'm missing the obvious chemistry between them. I know, the Steve and Kayla fans don't like me much... But hey, I've waited long enough. Tamara was in the preview for 06/28/2008.

TB: How are you? Don’t I just?! [laughs]
TVG: So you’re leaving the soap this summer…
TB: I have plans for the summer, but Days has been wonderful about everything — and they are leaving the door open for my return.
TVG: Are you looking forward to seeing all the Carlys?
TB: I just saw the originator, Sarah Brown [Claudia, GH].
TVG: Ava and John are so much fun to watch! What’s it like working with Drake Hogestyn?
TB: So much fun!
TVG: The Jarlena fans haven’t put a bounty on your head yet, right?
TB: No, but if you hear anything, let me know. So far, the fans are cool about it, which no one really expected!
So the door's been left open for our girl to come back. I wish General Hospital had done that.

I really cute day between Ava and Nicole (Arianne Zuker) today. Lots of 'girlfriend' bonding at the Salem fitness club. I loved how casual Tamara looked today. Hair drawn up into a playful ponytail, no jewelery...just natural beauty. Tamara looked luminous. I'm turly loving this friendship between Ava and Nicole, which leads me to a quote by Arianne Zuker I just recently read:
"Yes! I'm so excited. Ava. I don't even know her last name. She doesn't need a last name, she's so fabulous. Let me start by saying - huge fan of Tamara Braun. When she came onto General Hospital as Carly, I was like, she's amazing. I sort of became a crazy fan. I worked with her on a Planned Parenthood event, a play that Heather Tom had put together to raise money. We all did separate monologues but we did rehearsals together. I've always thought very highly of her. I've already told her that I'm a crazy fan! But I feel another kindred spirit. We get along so well. You know what she is? She's so available. As an actor, you talk about trust, and you can look in her eyes and know she's there for you. So I really enjoy it. I can't tell you how lucky I feel! They're amazing actors that I get to work with."

As promised, I was able to obtain 19 images of Tamara at the Daytime Emmy Nominee Reception in HI-RES. However, only 10 of them took. For some reason, some of them are having difficulty uploading. The script that writes in the images, isn't taking. The images are in the database, just not in the gallery. So there are nine images not writing. When I get that fixed, they'll be in the album with the other ones. Until then, enjoy the ones that are there.

I'm sorry these are not up as quickly as I'd have preferred. There were a few things that were thwarting me at every turn. One, my server was having an issue with me logging on, and I had to run quite a few errands today. My mom's 84th birthday is this week, and I'm preparing to have her over for the weekend. Cake and all! So my apologies.
Ava wiped the floor with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) today and had some major girlfriend bonding with Nicole (Arianne Zuker). I'm not sure what it is, but I'm really loving how close Ava and Nicole are getting. The vibe I'm getting is like what Tamara had with Alicia Leigh Willis on General Hospital. Yeah, I said it before, but I'm really enjoying that Ava has someone she can both take care of, and find a sistership with. ***NOTE: There were no previews today.***

Tamara looked particularly pretty today. I loved the outfit the wardrobe department put her in. Lots of black, one of Tamara's best colours. We also got to see Angelo (Angelo Tiffe) and Eddie (Jeff Chase) today. Ava sent them to get Paul Hollingsworth (Lyndon Ashby) and bring him to John (Drake Hogestyn) at the DiMera mansion. I really loved how they strong-armed him. I thought the part where Angelo pulled Paul out by the tie was so funny. Angelo Tiffe looked like he was having the time of his life. Jeff Chase...what did his mother feed him to get so big?
I was able to obtain six more images from Tamara's appearance at the Daytime Emmy Nominee Reception. Instead of editing the previous post, I thought I'd include a new one. You can access the album at the link below. Still no HI-RES images, but I'm working on it.
