I’ve been a little remiss at getting this out to Tamara’s fans. As most of you know Tamara will be appearing in a play this spring/summer. The play is called Tennessee In The Summer, starring alongside veteran actor Jack Heller, and co-starring Louise Davis, Robert Standley and Lisa Thayer. According to Debby O’Connor, Tamara’s fan club president, the show opens on Friday, April 13, at 8:00 p.m. The run is for Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. for six weeks only, ending May 20. Tickets are $20 in advance and may be purchased online at the Brown Paper Tickets Direct Link. There is more information through the play’s FACEBOOK page. Thanks to TAMARA OBSCURA long time commenters Cheryl for the information and to Noreen for the poster. Thanks guys. If anyone attends, please come on back and let us know how Tamara was. I’d love to know.

This is a disapointment to me i was hoping she would go back to gh most people wont get to see her in this play

It doesn’t matter if most of her fans won’t get to see her in this play, The point is she’s doing something that means a lot to her and she’s expanding as an actress. Most big name actors like Gene Hackman and Meryl Streep liked to go back and forth to keep their skills honed. I am thinking of two actors who do this. One is David Strathairn who goes between film, television and stage as does actor Keir Dullea. And face it, the roles these days for ones like Tamara aren’t that great. They’re either for sluts, stupid women or mother types. Tamara is still too young looking to play a mother of a teenager in a show where the teen will likely be the main character. Another actress I love named Diane Neal who plays Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit just got through the audition circuit and was reading only for mothers of late teensomethings. Neal is only 35 but they want her testing for mothers who are in their late forties. I don’t want Tamara playing these types and only being thought of as thus.

As for going back to GH. I would love to see it happening, however, given what they did to her when she was there…. I really don’t want to see her go back to a soap that didn’t value her while she was there initially. I also want her doing things that make HER happy, not what makes me happy.

Its only a six week play..I would love to see Tamara in a play…

  4. tamara obscura, 21 March, 2012:

It’s only a three-days-a-week play she’s doing for six weeks. Did that make sense? I would love to see this but financially and geographically it would be impossible. I’m hoping anyone who does see it will stop by and tell us how she did in it.

  5. SARA, 21 March, 2012:

i think should get back into daytime before all the soaps are gone theres alot of actors out of jobs since weve lost four soaps in the last couple years ok done withthat. Im really likey jen lilly as maxie shes becoming a fan of mine .

  6. Ce'Ron, 21 March, 2012:

I wish I was in LA and able to see this. I wish her so much success with this play. Theatre is much harder than film or television acting. I bet Tamara will enjoy the challenge! Hopefully after this project, she will be on TV again……everyday!

  7. Cheryl, 25 March, 2012:

Thanks for the “thanks,” Dianne. Always happy to help pass along info on Tamara as I hear about it.

You’re more than welcome. It was very much appreciated.

    Hugs, Dianne

  9. noreen, 9 April, 2012:

    I had not noticed before…but Tamara is only in 4 performances …of Tennessee in the Summer..April 13th 22nd May4th 20th..

  10. tamara obscura, 9 April, 2012:

No, Tamara is in all the performances. The dates you mentioned are the only dates in which it’s playing. It’s not a ‘long-run’ sort of thing. The play has a limited amount of performances. But Tamara is in all of them. The play runs from April 15 – May 4, but only on the weekends.

    Hope that helped.

  11. noreen, 9 April, 2012:

Thanks Dianne…I was going by what it says when you go to buy tickets…

  12. tamara obscura, 10 April, 2012:

Thanks for the emailing. Yeah, it does look like that doesn’t it? I read it that she’s going to be in it from April 13 – 22 and May 4 – 20. I was under the impression Tamara was going to be in it for the duration. Dammit, she should be! LOL.

    Thanks again for the info.
