Here is yesterdays episode. Sorry it’s so late despite what I said in my Twitter post. Couldn’t be helped. I had the doctors appointment then my rehab. In the doctors appointment I found out I have a vitamin B12 deficiency along with the damned vertigo. I have to take injections now in order to build me back up to be faster, stronger, better than I was before. (“Six Million Dollar Man” reference for those not in the know).

So here’s my thoughts. All during Tamara’s scenes with William deVry (Julian Jerome) all I could see was Tamara as Carly as a doctor and wishing that were Ted King (Lorenzo/Luis Alcazar) instead of deVry. Try as I might I’m still not buying her as Kim. In the next scene with Sonny played by Maurice Benard and Michael played by Chad Duell as Michael that’s where my brain goes. I want her as Carly, not this little-used character. Now I know she’s been filming her pilot THROTTLE, which explains most of the reason why she’s been absent, but it still hurts she’s not playing Carly, the character in which I found and fell in love with Tamara. I’ve said this before, there is a way to make Tamara and amalgam of Carly and Kim if the writers and the powers that be are willing to breathe new life into the show. All it takes is the will to do it. Instead we get new characters from other shows and stories that largely go nowhere. Certainly since November we’ve been waiting for Tamara’s story to pick up. The only thing we’ve gotten is the earthquake and all the drama surrounding Oscar played by Garren Lake Stitt being injured. In yesterday’s episode Drew played by Billy Miller wanted to have his Drew memories back. I’m truly hoping this means a step up of Tamara’s episode count as well as a direction for her largely directionless character.

New scans added to the gallery. The article is from ABC Soaps In Depth. Tamara isn’t mentioned, only shown. The article mainly talks about Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) state of mind coming home to Port Charles. I just included it in the gallery because of the photo of Tamara. Click on the scans below to go to the section in the gallery.

New press scans for the gallery and article for the press section. We are finally getting some direction for K(arly)im in terms of where she might be going. As per the episode on 2018/04/05 where she told Julian (William deVry) her true feelings for Drew (Billy Miller) and on 2018/04/06 where Oscar/Morgan (Garren Lake Stitt) confronted his mother, here’s hoping Tamara is out of storyline limbo. Not too sure what to believe about this spoiler on Celebrity Dirty Laundry but according to them K(arly)im will end up pregnant from her one-night-stand with Julian. So are you going to tell me a woman who is an OBGYN doctor is NOT going to use contrceptives? Is GENERAL HOSPITAL and or Frank Valentini going to further insult our intelligence? Likely. He can’t seem to help himself. Remember though right now those “spoilers” from CDL are just theoretical and not actual fact. But hey….. You can click on the press link in the post to go to the article.

Here is today’s episode and clips. By and large I liked today’s episode. The scenes Tamara had with Garren Lake Stitt (Oscar Nero) were really good and he’s such a good young actor. The downside is that I still see her as Carly and him as Morgan.

No sermon today, I promise. Loved the scene between Kim and Oscar (Garren Stitt). They really are gelling in the mother/son dynamic. I also loved Tamara barging “Carly-like” into Drew’s (Billy Miller) office. Ah, so nice some things never change. She certainly had her “Carly Groove” down today. Don’t know if it’s being back on the GH lot, but certainly something’s rubbing off.

Sorry for the lateness of this post, but with Christmas and having family over on the 26th I’m behind. Can I say that I’m loving Kim Nero? I was going to say this before, but didn’t know how to put it and I thought saying it before Christmas was the wrong time. I can absolutely say that as long as they do right by Tamara, I’m glad she’s not playing Carly anymore. The reason for that is simple: I think Carly as a character is ruined. She was ruined by Charles Pratt Jr. and Bob Guza after Tamara left with the recast of Laura Wright and her “taking the character back to the original” stupidity she spewed. Whatever growth, humanity, humility and grace Tamara infused the character with has been watered down and or demolished by Guza, Carlivati and whoever else wrote for the character and by the subpar acting by Wright who more or less fulfilled the prophecy left by that poster on the now defunct IMDB message boards. Gone is the growth and development Tamara infused Carly with. On a recent post on SoapCentral, someone had this to say:

When Carly first came to the show I didn’t much like the character, but I could listen to SJB speak all day. She had a gentle accent and her voice was very soothing. I could most believe that she grew up in Florida. Then TB joined. I finally started to love the character, and to this day, cried when she decided to tell Sonny the truth that Alexis was pregnant with his child, although she knew that he would leave her for having kept the secret. TB’s Carly was a better person. She learned and grew. When JB joined, I didn’t want to like a replacement Carly because TB had my heart, but I liked her performance. She was a good actress. I just didn’t enjoy depressed crying Carly very much. I was used to a Carly with her head up. Then she was recast with LW. Once again, there were great performances, but the character was written to have forgotten every lesson that she ever learned. She was back down in the gutter snarling and shouting. I never liked the Carly character again. I’d enjoyed the more grown up Carly that was written for TB and this snarling guttersnipe just rubbed me the wrong way. All these years later, I still feel that she is more animalistic than was written for TB’s Carly and I miss that.

I agree. She even used my word for both Sarah Brown’s and Laura Wright’s versions: Guttersnipe. An unevolved being with little of no manners or decorum. However, for me now I’m glad Tamara is playing Kim. She can do what she likes with this character and she doesn’t need to recreate mannerisms from a former actress. She had me in the scenes with Oscar (Garren Stitt) at their home. And my gosh I love they gave her an apartment. Looks snazzy.
