Hello and welcome to 2009. So sorry for the lack of updates but I’ve been getting over an intestinal bug that’s kind of kept me down since before New Years. Though I’ve been trying to get the screencaps done and the clips up at OBSCURE MEDIA, that’s about all I’ve been doing. I’m hoping you had a restful holiday season and are ready for 2009. I know I am.Okay, not too much to talk about this time around. I’m so far behind that I think it would be hard to really encapsulate what’s gone on since I last updated. I think I’ll just say that I’m so glad that Zach (Thorsten Kaye) is sticking up for Reese and telling Erica (Susan Lucci) to get her nose out of Reese and Bianca’s business. I will also say that I’m so glad the writers have finally nailed down on screen what the exact nature of Reese and Zach’s relationship is. No more speculation about Reese wanting to jump Zach’s bones or Zach wanting to make out with Reese. I think the word Tamara used is platonic. Couldn’t have said it better myself. Now of course according to the previews for this week (can be found in the sidebar under “Featured Video”) there’s more speculation that Reese and Zach will ‘have it on’. All I can say is OI! Enough with the teasing. We know it’s not ever gonna happen. Tons of stuff for you in this posting. So without further adieu, I’ll get to it. One note though, I’m not going to be including the usual screencaps from the individual days. Considering how far I’m behind in posting, it’ll take up too much space. So here’s the update…. I find it amazing with all of the wonderful and emotional scenes of Reese talking about how hard it was living in the closet and having to live a straight life lie to please her parents. AMC still is pushing with all they can the idea that Reece is bi. She has said countless times she is a lesbian and those emotional scenes of Reece talking about her past is relatable to many women forced to live a lie out of fear. Some posters on certain boards have no respect for Reese or TB. Honestly, TB's Reece and the talk of all she needs is the right man to set her straight and she really wants Zach. It is a prime example of what lesbians deal with many times. I am proud of TB playing this character Reece, because we are seeing the truth to the ignorance of what people believe that lesbians cannot exist without a man. BTW, I hope you feel better.
Cher: I'm constantly amazed myself at the ignorance of the posters you mentioned who are so uncomfortable with the notion of a real live lesbian, they concoct this 'Zach' love to justify their homophobia. The scene where Reese said to Simon she was living a lie (I'm paraphrasing) with him, it scored the big one for me. We got the truth of the shame homosexuals and lesbians face when trying to come to terms with those oh so difficult emotions when coming out. Tamara is amazing in her drive to tell the truth of a Reese type person who faces ridicule and scorn from famil in order to live their lives their way. And I can tell you, Tamara has had a hard time in being accepted by those on message boards. No one took her seriously as Carly on GH. They constantly pointed to her looks, her walk, the way she moved…anything to escape the fact that she's an amazing actress who tells the truth through all she does. If you take a look at the interviews I posted at Obscure Media (Soap Talk) you'll see what kind of a woman Tamara is. But back to the 'notion' a lesbian needs a man in her life to 'complete' her. Ridiculous. Simply ignorant asses trying to justify their close-mindedness. And thanks for the get well wishes. I'm feeling better today. Take care Cher.
