Days of Our Lives star Tamara Braun pleads for help in locating missing relative
By Rene Thurston, Riverside Soap Opera Examiner
June 13, 2011 5:23 pm PTOn Monday, Twitter was abuzz with retweets from soap star Tamara Braun, who is pleading for help to find her relative, 20-year-old Indiana University College student, Lauren Spierer, who has been missing since Friday, June 3rd.
Braun currently stars as Taylor on soap Days of Our Lives, which airs at 1pm weekdays on Riverside affiliate NBC Channel 4.
Spierer was last seen at 11th Street and College Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana in the early morning hours of June 3rd, walking to her apartment a few hours after leaving Kilroy’s Sports Bar where she had been with friends.
The Fox television program America’s Most Wanted aired Lauren’s story on Sunday night, during which it was revealed that Lauren and an acquaintence, Corey Rossman, left the sports bar together and walked to her apartment building. Cameras recorded the two lingering in the lobby briefly at around 2:40 a.m. but they then left to go to Rossman’s apartment. According to Rossman’s attorney, Carl Salzmann, there was an altercation with some other people at Lauren’s building, during which Corey was punched, which led to the two returning to Rossman’s apartment.
Friends indicated that around 4:30 a.m., Lauren stated she was tired and was heading home. The acquaintence watched her walk away until she was out of sight to be sure was okay. She was last seen three blocks from her apartment complex.
Since the Sunday night AMW broadcast, more than 30 tips have been received, though police say they have not led to any major breakthroughs. Police do say, however, that there are 10 “persons of interest” they wish to speak to in the case, though none are currently considered suspects.
