Hi gang. I’m posting this to let you know that TAMARA OBSCURA despite my domain renewal may be shut down. I feel this might have something to do with the posting of the stills from Tamara’s play TENNESSEE IN THE SUMMER. Apparently someone contacted where domains are held and said I violated their copyright. This stems from someone who said they’d been trying to contact me regarding an issue. I have received nothing from anyone regarding any image issue and I can state, I did not receive anything from this person regarding this issue. After six years of running this site, I cannot believe that it might be gone over an issue that no one contacted me about. There are three areas on this site where you can contact me and they are clearly listed in the bottom of the sidebar had anyone bothered to scroll. There is also a contact page where you can submit your questions or complaints. There is also the fact that my Twitter account, as well as my Facebook and Myspace accounts are clearly shown in the sidebar as alternate methods of contacting me. As of right now, I will be removing those photos from the gallery and the post has been deleted.
How silly…It was because of the pictures and Tamara of couse ..That I sent for Tickets to see the play….If my favorite WEB_SITE gets closed down.I will be so mad so sad..Sorry Dianne..
Noreen:
Right now I’ve written her and apologized for posting the photos. She said she sent me four messages asking me to remove them but I received none of them. I’ve checked all my forms on this site as they pertain to getting messages in my inbox. But here’s the thing, if she didn’t get a response from me directly, she could have posted a message to my Twitter or Facebook account. Both links can be found in the sidebar. Then there’s always posting a comment here like you and everyone else does. So as of now I’m sure where I stand. Keep checking back.
Dianne
Can’t beloved this! Anyone that follows this site knows how much love and devotion you put into this site for all of us.I only hope they do the proper thing and contact you to give you a chance to know what the heck is going on. I am hoping things work out for you/us.My best thoughts for you Diane. 🙂
Cindy:
I’ve contacted the photographer and I’m hoping this situation is settled. I’ve got my fingers crossed nothing comes of it other than it was a bad misunderstanding. I thank you for your words. Apparently this photographer sent me three or four messages I did not receive. But like I said to Noreen, if one didn’t get through, then there was always me Facebook and Twitter. There was no need to take such drastic action. The site Privacyprotect.org is the one that might shut me down. Apparently they think they own my domain I paid for. I’m not really sure how that one works…but hey.
Dianne
I didn’t believe Tamara was involved either.I fully plan on supporting her in whatever projects she persues. Always a fan.I hope this photographer can see how this was a misunderstanding. While I don’t see how he can possibly think he owns this site which you’ve paid for this whole time. Keep the faith; things will work out! 🙂
Cindy:
The photographer doesn’t think he/she owns this site, the domain is registered with something called Privacyprotect.org that keeps my sign up information private. That includes my name, address, phone number, etc. They somehow seem to think they own my domain, the one I’ve been paying for for the last six years. What I’d like to say to them is that if they want to pay me back the money I’ve put out, they can then own it. Until that time, it’s mine. Also they can pay my webhosting fees if they like. Then they can own the content. Until they do though, it’s all mine. The photographer said he/she tried to get in contact with me directly through this website, which I personally don’t believe since all my email forms are working correctly. Alternately, there is also the nature of my Facebook, Twitter and Myspace accounts being clearly visible all of which if he/she didn’t get an answer from a personal email, he/she could have gone the route of posting to one of those….had he/she taken the time to do so. He/she contacted the Privacyprotect.org thing for the purpose of being difficult. Instead of being considerate which I did by not removing his/her name on the photos… in effect giving this person the credit for the photos, he/she did not give me the same courtosey by trying all avenues including my social networking connections to get in touch with me to kindly ask me to remove the photos. I receive all alerts through my cellphone. All my social networking things are connected through my phone including all my email addresses. That’s what I meant about all my forwarders (email redirections to another central account). Thing that gets me about this is that I had no issues with any of the “Little Chenier” or “Limbo Lounge” stills I posted. In fact, I was asked to remove some “Limbo Lounge” things I had up here due to the director’s personal contact information being on them, but the person who contacted me gave me other HQ versions of the same stills for my site. So there was some amount of cooperation. In fact I was told that it was appreciated that I was giving the film such attention. According to Debby O’Connor, I’m somehow disrespecting Tamara with troweling the internet and taking credit for other people’s work, which I did not do. Apparently she may not understand the nature of a fan-made website. Anything added furthers the knowledge of that performer. It’s a dedication to them. I’ve been online for six years and Hurley three before me before she decided to give her Tamara site up and gave me her content. So that’s approximately nine years we both dedicated ourselves to Tamara and her career. Lastly, it’s not like I don’t have all the relevant notices up in terms of the copyrights and disclaimers. I said I don’t own anything, rather, this is a storehouse of all that stuff out there on the web. Like Noreen said to me in a private email, a lot of people don’t have a lot of time to go surfing the net for information. They either go to the actor/actress official site or a fan site to get the information they want. Usually this has to do with the fansite having the information readily at hand. Then the links provided can start their search. So I’m not entirely sure that this photographer or O’Connor completely understand that this is the most direct way of getting Tamara’s fans to where they want to go. I don’t know. Sorry for the longwinded response Cindy, but these were some things I thought needed to be said.
Dianne
Hi Dianne, when i saw this post on Twitter this morning, I was so angry. I don’t believe this has anything to do directly with Tamara at all. She is and has always been respectful and gracious for her fans love and support. I do believe that who ever has the @TenInSummer Twitter account has everything to do with this. I appreciate all the time and devotion Dianne you have put into this site. This is incredibly unfair and I hope that Tamara-braun.com is staying around. I love this site!
Thank You for the correction.:) This truly is the best site for a lot of us to find information out about Tamara’s projects and stuff.I myself live in South Eastern Wisconssin and am not able to fly out to California to see or attend events to often.Went out once a few years back to an event she was at for TLC. Didn’t get to meet her but was cool just being there. I’ve very much appreciated your letting us know different shows such as “Three Rivers” and “Saving Grace” she was going to be on.Very nice.
Dianne, I just had the chance to read your response to Cindy and this is unbelievable! Disrespecting Tamara, is she serious? I have not once seen anything on this site not credited back to the creating source.
