TAMARA OBSCURA || GENERAL HOSPITAL SCREENCAPS AND OTHER NEWS

According to SOAP CENTRAL, Charles Pratt Jr. has been fired by ABC. According to the various message boards I’ve been reading, much of it may stem from the way actors and actresses have more or less left the fold due to Pratt’s uneven, even sloppy writing. All us Reese and Bianca fans know what was done to our couple. My bet is with the relocation to the West Coast, many of the actors Brian Frons had hoped to lure back like Tamara and Eden Riegel all more or less told him their terms. I’m wondering with this having been done, whether Tamara might come back as Reese? Perhaps with a better incentive storyline-wise, there might be some chance we may see Tamara back on daytime. Here’s hoping. Interim head writer will be longtime AMC scribe Lorraine Broderick. According to what I’ve read, she came up under Agnes Nixon and was Nixon’s choice to succeed her as head scribe. Fingers crossed. For those wondering what’s been going on. I’ve been busy getting all the GENERAL HOSPITAL screencaps up in the gallery. What is taking the time is that I want all the file names to be the same as those in the DOOL and AMC sections. With four years to handle, it’s been a bit of a wait. My apologies for that. But keep an eye on the gallery. I’ll be trying to get the rest up throughout this week. Hopefully by next weekend, I’ll have it all complete. That’s it for now. Take care and be safe. Yours, Dianne

  1. Shannon: It's fantastic that Pratt is gone. Considering how much he destroyed AMC and pretty much made a mockery of the Reese/Bianca storyline, he deserved this. As for Tamara's return to DOOL, there's no one on that show anymore other than James Scott and Ari Zuker for Tamara to return to. Dena Higley messed up the story with Steve and Ava. And with Stephen Nichols, Mary Beth Evans, Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall gone…there's no one left for her to play up against. Ava pretty much was thrown under the bus by Higley. If she was to come back, there'd be more abuse hurled her way. Reese is the better chance in that with Broderick at the helm, she'd fix what Pratt ruined. Broderick came up under Agnes Nixon who created Bianca as a lesbian. So for me, the better choice would be AMC. Reese and Bianca could have mended their relationship off camera and come back on as a fully committed relationship with both Gabby and Miranda. Again, if I were Tamara and was deciding which show I'd go back to, it would be AMC with the new writer, not DOOL where there are no prospects. But that would depend entirely on Tamara's status as far as other projects are concerned. Dianne

  2. It seems unreal that Frons either fired his buddy Pratt himself or was told to by someone over him. Good riddance to Pratt. He lied to TB. I am excited at the prospect of TB returning to play Reese with ER/Bianca. They both deserve the second chance the do the story that they felt passionate about and wanted to tell. It was wonderful to hear TB in the beginning wanting to play out the Reese/Bianca love story in respect to the lesbian community. It was sad to see TB have Pratt do a blatant bait and switch and have Bianca OOC and Reese OOC. TB & ER didn't ask for much just to play lesbian characters and tell a love story and drama that was in truth to being a lesbian couple raising a family. I believe L. Broderick at least knows the meaning of being a "lesbian" which Pratt refused to understand or respect. BTW: The site is looking beautiful, thanks for the work you do.

  3. Cher: I've been reading on AMC message boards that Frons had been under the gun for the past three months and told Pratt to shape up or ship out. This edict came from higher up than Frons. Pratt was given those three months to get things into some sort of repair or he'd be fired above Frons' head. My guess is that it wasn't Frons. We all know how Frons loves Pratt and Guza. Take a look back in the press section of all Tamara and Eden had to say about the chance to play out this once-in-a-lifetime story about a same-sex couple just living their lives. Then look at the mess Pratt made it. I really came down on Eden for her acting choices, when it was Pratt I should have been blaming. But I truly did think he'd do right by Tamara. Apparently not. And you're so right about characters acting out of character. The Reese that was on our screens in October, November, December wasn't the same one that was there in late January, February or March. But Tamara did her best with what she wasn't given. As she always does. And thanks on the compliments on the site. As I've said before, she's a labour of love and that extends to Tamara and her fans. You take care. Dianne
