04/01/2014 – “General Hosptial” 51st Anniversary Episode

Here finally are the screencaps and clip from Tamara’s brief return to GENERAL HOSPITAL as her iconic role of Carly Corinthos. I’ve included the flashback scenes from the episode in the screencaps for you. Didn’t she look luminous? I thought she was just so good in how she slipped effortlessly back into the Carly we’d all come to know and love. This makes me miss her all the more and really would love to see her back on either daytime or primetime in a more permanent capacity. I’m not mentioning names, but you guys know what I’m talking about. And again I’ll register my contempt for the powers that be at GENERAL HOSPITAL for the travesty at not including Jennifer Bransford to this supposed “Carly-Palooza”. Too often I’ve seen on message boards about this episode that Jennifer wasn’t Carly and nor should she have been included because she wasn’t attractive enough. I feel that is so disgusting and demeaning to say to any woman let alone Jennifer who I feel did as much with the part as she was allowed under Guza’s craptastical writing. I feel Jennifer more than Laura Wright embodied all the elements both Sarah Brown and Tamara infused Carly with for a continuation of the character. Those aforementioned powers that be failed to utilize Jennifer’s abilities to the fullest, instead pulled the same tired trick of having a woman go nuts over loving Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Shame on Bob Guza for reducing Carly to such a stereotype as well to Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati for their disgusting tactics regarding Jennifer Bransford.

Now I’m including the clip of the episode from a Youtube link Tamara provided in a tweet. Why? Every single time I upload anything that is copyrighted no matter all the disclaimers I put on it, my account always seems to get yanked from Youtube and I have to sign back up. I’m not willing to have to put myself through that headache again. I’ve had two accounts pulled and I like the one I have. So due to that I’m going to include the full episode here. Tamara’s parts start at the 18:30 mark.

Tamara’s Return to “General Hospital”

Hi guys. My apologies for not having been around, but I’ve had some health issues and my mom hasn’t been well. I wanted to let you know that I have Tamara’s episode of GENERAL HOSPITAL from April Fool’s Day for the GENERAL HOSPITAL 51st Anniversary. I’ll try to get that capped up and up sometime later today. I know I still haven’t gotten the media site or the soap site back up, but I’m working on it. I’ll try to have an alternative for viewing the clip here. Stay tuned.

Onto a shallow note, didn’t Tamara look amazing? It seems like she’s drawn some elixir or something. She positively glowed. Dare I say Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) looked happy to have her back? I have to still my heart though. Seeing her was both heartwarming and heartwrenching to know it was only a one off. Though during the live tweeting session, Tamara did say she had to “get back to the set.” Could that mean our girl is working on something? Here’s hoping it’s something a little more permanent. It is pilot season after all. Anyway good to see her back. Below is a preview pic. My only gripe about the episode was its shunning of the lovely Jennifer Bransford’s contribution to the character of Carly. I found that just a little insulting.

A new event for you tonight. Tamara looked amazing at the Premiere Of MGM Pictures and Screen Gems’ “Carrie.” The film features Tamara’s former GENERAL HOSPITAL co-star @CynthisPreston (Faith Roscoe). I think Tamara’s outfit looks so charming and fun. I also think Tamara looks so fresh and beautiful with her new brunette locks. Just stunning. Special thanks to Bielle at Stana Katic Brasil for the find.

“All My Children” & “One Life To Live” Reboots

I just thought I’d post this for those who don’t know what’s going on with these two soaps. One has a lot to do with Tamara in that she played a major character on ALL MY CHILDREN as Reese Williams. As you likely know by now, both soaps are on their way back to the airwaves. Well, sort of. Prospect Park and it’s Online Network have signed a deal with HULU and HULU Plus as well as iTunes to bring the shows to the fans online. Further Prospect Park has just announced they have sold the rights to air the shows in Canada via the FX channel. A great thing for us Canucks who up to this point have been left out of the loop. “Supernatural” – E8X14 Trial and Error Media

All I can say is that Tamara was a whole ball of fun in this episode. I adored her as Cindy Cassidy who is as Tamara described her, “A washed up country singer who has quite a contentious and sassy relationship with her father. One of three sisters, I played the firecracker.” And did she ever. The only issue I have with Cindy is that she called my Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki), “Ken doll.” Too funny. For some background information on the episode I thought I’d give you a crash course on SUPERNATURAL‘s history. Someone attached to the Cassidy family made a deal with what is known as a Crossroads Demon, someone who can grant any wish, however, you have to sell your soul to them. As a part of the deal you’re granted a ten year reprieve in order to live whatever life you wished for, but as part of the payment when the deal is up, the Crossroads demon comes for you. In the episode it’s revealed that the demon was THE demon of Hell, Crowley played by Mark L. Shepard. For the past four years Crowley has sort of been the Big Bad of the show. He’s caused Sam played by Jared Padalecki and Dean Winchester played by Jensen Ackles more than their share of trouble. When the deal comes due the demon sends his/her hellhounds to bring in the deal maker who is then pulled into Hell. It’s not the nicest of deaths but this is Crowley. Want to know the kicker of this episode? Jensen Ackles got his first start on the soap opera DAYS OF OUR LIVES where he played the part of Eric Brady (now played by Greg Vaughan) who had fallen in love with a certain Taylor Raines Walker, then played by Katherine Ellis (August 6, 1998 to May 24, 1999). Of course we all know Tamara went on to play the part. I’m wondering if Tamara mentioned this to Jensen who has gone on record as saying if this SUPERNATURAL thing didn’t work out, he could always go back to the soap. Not now Jensen, and SUPERNATURAL has just been renewed by the CW for a ninth season. Lucky for us fans. Now onto the irony of this situation. You know my love for Mitch Pileggi and how I want Tamara and Mitch to do something together? Well Mitch once played Sam and Dean’s grandfather, Samuel Campbell. A further six degrees is that this coming week on Mitch’s show DALLAS, Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) goes on trial for attempting to murder Mitch’s character Harris Ryland. Why is it six degrees? The name of the episode is called…you guessed it Trial and Error. You can’t make this stuff up.

I’m going to start a weekly thing in The Picture of the Week in which I’ll post a picture from the gallery and anyone who wants to discuss it can. I’ll do it on every Sunday, but I’ll post the picture I am tonight and then choose one for next week on Sunday. Okay for this week I’m choosing this one:

Tamara Braun and Thorsten Kaye from the ABC soap opera ALL MY CHILDREN. Braun played the part of Reese Williams and Kaye the part of Zach Slater. This image is from 12/09/2008 in which Reese tried to comfort Zach during the time his wife, Kendall (Alicia Minshew) was in a coma after a freak storm swept through Pine Valley.

For me I’d have to say it’s the sense of parity between both Tamara and Thorsten. I loved their chemistry. I know the chemistry was supposed to be between Reese and Bianca (Eden Riegel) but I just adored the way both Tamara and Thorsten just keyed into each others rhythms. I also loved that Tamara was acting with someone who was her equal. I came to love Thorsten through his scenes with Tamara. So feel free to comment.

I also know the site has been down for most of the day. Apparently my host has been performing maintenance on their servers and it was necessary to deactivate those sites on those servers. Everything is back up and running. Thank the gods for that.
