In what I can only call a shocking announcement, it appears that Tamara is on her way back to daytime television. And it’s back to DAYS OF OUR LIVES, but not as Ava, her Emmy Award Winning role…but as a character currently being played by her former GH co-star Natalia Livingston. The character is named Taylor Walker. Here’s the news bite from SOAP OPERA DIGEST ONLINE, more below the cut:

Huge DAYS Casting Change!

Soap Opera Digest has learned that Emmy winner Natalia Livingston (ex-Emily/Rebecca, GH), who just started airing three weeks ago as DAYS’s Taylor, has been let go and replaced with another Emmy winner who used to call Port Charles home — Tamara Braun (ex-Ava, DAYS; ex-Carly, GH et al). Braun appeared as Ava in 2008 and took home a golden trophy for her Salem performances in 2009. She will start taping today; look for her to first air in late April. “It was decided to take the character of Taylor in a new direction,” explains Co-Executive Producer Gary Tomlin. “Natalia Livingston is an amazing actress and a consummate professional. She is a class act and everyone at the studio adores her.”

I want to thank Lisa for the heads up on this news. While I would have loved to have seen Ava back in Salem, it’s good news that Tamara will once again be gracing our screens and rest assured, TAMARA OBSCURA will be here to keep you up on Tamara’s new role.

Okay, I started this on my RENEGADE ~ STEPHEN NICHOLS ONLINE site, but no one seemed to be truly interested. I’m hoping I have better luck here. Here’s what I’m planning, I need some sign ups here to pick the photo that will go in what is now called the ‘Photo Pick of the Month’ space in the sidebar. What will happen is that for anyone who signs up to this post, you will get the chance to pick one photo from the gallery, and that photo will be the photo of the week. Your name will be used and the chance to feature your website or a favourite you visit frequently…this one excluded because we know you like it since you visit. This is the chance to truly make this a fan-friendly site and you can feel like you contribute something. So again, you have to sign your name in the comments section plus the URL of the photo you chose from the gallery. If there are multiple sign-ups, then what I’ll do is go in order according to the sign up date, or if there were multiple sign ups on the same day, it’ll go according to the timestamp. Once I have sufficient to fulfill say a month or two months worth of photos, I’ll put a hold until that time has passed. I’ll then put up a new post for new sign ups.

I truly hope this will be fun and again, giving Tamara’s fans the chance to be interactive with this site as well as make it fun for all.

Well, here it is. Finally! TAMARA OBSCURA‘s new layout. A huge debt of gratitude to Christine @ PINKCHAOS.ORG for the lovely and stunning design. I’d struggled for months with various things that Christine brought together so effortlessly. If anyone needs a quality website designed for them, Christine’s your go-to gal. Thank you so very much Christine. No words can express how thrilled I am with the new design.

One thing though, with Christmas rapidly approaching and some personal issues I have going on right now in terms of family responsibilities, the transferring of the pages in the old website will take some time to transfer here. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to set up the new press section, so until I have that done, I’m going to be using the dropdown section in the top sidebar box for that so you can still read the articles. I also have a whole whack of house cleaning to do behind the scenes in clearing out the old files that once encompassed this site. I hope to have that done throughout December. With so much new here at TAMARA OBSCURA, I’m going to have to take the time to breathe it all in. So for now, I hope you love the changes. I know I do.

The title refers to a Rush song off of their “Snakes & Arrows” album that infers something is up. Something is. I’m going to be doing some monkeying around behind the scenes in getting the gallery fixed, and by fixed I mean, it’s in a shoddy state. Since I put this site up, I’ve gotten more proficient at organizing the galleries of my Stephen Nichols, Ted King and Mitch Pileggi sites. This one I’m afraid I kind of put up on the fly just to get something up on Tamara. I’m really disappointed in the way it looks organizationally for the new layout to go up. Plus, I’m going to be updating the database to a newer more svelt version of Coppermine. So for a time the look will be plain old, plain old. The new layout will be up, fingers crossed, next week, or at the very latest the weekend. So please forgive any hinkiness you might find in the viewing.

Another thing, I’ve been able to get a hold of about a dozen images of Tamara’s last event, the “Faster” premiere in Los Angeles. Hopefully I’ll have those for you sometime tonight. Sorry for the sluggishness of the updates and uploads but there’s been so much to do to prepare the site for the new layouts. My apologies.
