I’m sure most of you are aware I haven’t uploaded in a very long time. The last time was back in July 2018 from GENERAL HOSPITAL. The reasons are this, as I stated in this post Is Ava Vitali Alive And Back From The Dead?, I had a hard drive crash. The result was a bad drive due to Dell computers’ way of using used parts in their repairs. If you plan on getting a Dell and plan on buying an extended warranty I urge you to seek other coverage for your computer needs. Their parts are refurbished and really don’t hold up well under the constant strain of a computer’s day-to-day using. All of my files were on that failed hard drive. I was able to get my computer fixed in terms of having a brand new hard drive installed, however, the downside is whatever is on the old hard drive is sort of in limbo. I’ve done some investigating and found out the cost of the recovery of all the files including my extensive research for my three novels I’m working on, many personal photos of my family, music I cannot get again, and all of the files needed to be able to update Tamara’s GENERAL HOSPITAL work are on there. Since I’m on a fixed budget and most of my extra money goes to paying domain fees and webshoting, I’ve set up a GoFundMe to try to accommodate that task. If you would like to donate please feel free to there.

So next thing Webhosting and websites: This site has become enormous as you know. With all the screencaps and video uploads my host was threatening to shut me down due to the demands of serving up the various files for a site as big as this one. There was also the matter of my many websites being hacked. I’m still trying to get all of mine cleaned up as those pages that have been compromised at no risk to your viewing, are causing a strain on the servers of the shared hosting I have. My being here at Bravenet for the last 14 years hasn’t given me any leeway as far as loyalty is concerned. I had to more or less beg in order for them not to shut me down. Also on this server are my Ted King Online and my Stephen Nichols Online sites. Given the amount of screencaps dedicated to their soap opera work alone all three sites are sizeable. Right now I’m trying to figure out my options of whether to keep all three sites here at Bravenet, or move them, an undertaking I’m not willing to deal with since it would take a lot to copy files and make sure all have been moved properly. So right now they’ve put a cap on the amount I can upload. Since the video files alone are big I can’t upload any videos that are too big. The average eight minute video is about 500MB in size and the server having to serve that file size over and over again puts the aforementioned strain on the servers. Until I figure out what’s going on there won’t be any video or screencap uploads. I deeply apologize for that. I will keep you updated either here or on the site’s official Twitter page here: Tamara Braun Online On Twitter . You can follow us over there if you like. I am continuing to record GENERAL HOSPITAL and have continued to clip up Tamara’s work as Kim Nero as well as keeping up on the screencapping, but again with the issues I’m having with my webhost I cannot upload. And that bums me out. I also have many new images I wish I could upload, but not yet. I also have many magazine articles I’ve been collecting but a lot of what I had was on the bad hard drive. I’m continuing to collect magazine articles from the various publications concerning Tamara, but again I cannot upload them. I might try getting the text and thumbnail done for the press section, but we’ll see on that.

I’ve also been dealing with health issues for myself as well as my partner. We’ve both had many issues that have included three hospitalizations for her last year as well as my vertigo issue that is still ongoing, I’ve had many other issues including quite a bad infection that has needed heavy antibiotics that have left me pretty knackered. I’ve been to the emergency ward three times this year with these issues. I’ve also had some emotional issues dealing with those health issues as well as dealing with the death of my mom in 2015. I’m not out of the woods yet and neither is my partner. So that again has been taking a fair bit of my stamina. I’m not doing too bad right now, but again I’m still not one hundred percent. I’m also trying to get whatever I can remember of my research materials for my novels reclaimed from memory and try to reconstruct from what I have of back ups I have on other drives. Again that good ole stamina.

Lastly, I want to say is this site isn’t going anywhere. And I’m sorry for the extended downtime earlier in the year. That couldn’t be helped. My hosting (as it is) is up in October of this year and I’m about to renew both TAMARA-BRAUN.COM and TAMARABRAUN.ORG so they’re still active. Please do continue to visit the gallery, media, press, and filmography sections as they will remain up just not updated for now. Thank you for sticking around and for remaining loyal to Tamara. Please know I’m trying to rectify the webhosting issues as well as trying to keep healthy. Take care and be safe. Love Dianne.

The gallery is finally back up. Sorry it’s taken so long to do this but the files were massively messed up. I had to reupload and figure everything out from there. Enjoy.

I’m sure you’re aware that we finally have a new layout for the site. I thought it was about time since the last one went up many moons ago. I loved the work Christina did, however, I thought a new fresh look was long overdue. I hope you like it. I also wanted to let you know there will be new things you’ll be seeing on the site including new featured images on the posts and pages. Next I’ve created a new multimedia section for the site. This includes a video archive, an icons archive as well as the newly revamped press section. I wanted everything to be the same across the board so when you go to those areas you’ll see what I mean. I still have many tweaks to do across the many places so please be a little patient. To get to the new multimedia site, please click on the graphic below. All three of those sections are being housed on the tamarabraun.org domain. Lastly I have some other things that need to go up on the site over the next few days so sit back and relax. Thanks for staying with me lo these many years and thank you for your continued love for Tamara and her work.

If you don’t mind, I’d like to take this time to do a little back patting. On this day ten years ago TAMARA OBSCURA went online. We’ve come a very long way from our humble beginnings as a lonely, know-nothing webmaster. I had just spent five years on WEBTV teaching myself the very basics of HTML and site design. In fact the very first webhost I signed up for had a drag and drop editor with a “fill in this form” for the site to go live. I’ve learned so much since then and now ten years later I’m ten years older and ten plus sites richer…plus some fanlistings along the way. I took a capture from the Wayback Machine to see what we looked like back then, and posted below is that capture. I think we look a little decidedly different now. And I think my web skills have improved. I can even hand code now! A triumph of the will. I’m hoping that for as long as you’ll have me and Tamara keeps that magic coming, we’ll be here for the long haul. As I said do you mind if I pat myself on the back a little….. Ah hell, let’s have a back slapping time. I want to send out a personal thank you to Hurley for her generosity in handing over to me her hard work at what was EVE. Secondly I want to thank you, my visitors who have come here and continued to support me and the work I offer. My gratitude is beyond words. Most of all I want to thank the one person who made this all possible. And that person is the one and only Tamara Braun. It is my honour to keep this site up as a dedication to your gracious spirit and your immense talent, beauty and grace. It has been a pleasure getting to know you and to make this site for you. Thank you Tamara…. just thank you!

Just like the title says. Angie-Lindz who has run the fanlisting for a couple of years has generously allowed me to adopt the Official Tamara Braun Fanlisting. This was owned by Hurley for a time who passed it on to Angie-Lindz. I wrote her some time ago telling her if she were ever to want to pass it on, I’d love to have it. She wrote me last week and gave me some time to create the layout. It’s done and up and I’m hoping you consider joining. So far we have five members. Let’s show Tamara how many fans she has. There’s also a place for you to put your favourite role of hers in on the join form. The new fanlisting by the way is called SERENDIPITY and to a degree, it sort of is a way to describe Tamara’s life in terms of her career. Click the photo below to take you there.

I wanted to let you know that I’ve renewed the domains of tamara-braun.com and tamarabraun.org for another year. This means TAMARA OBSCURA will be here for another year to keep you up-to-date on all things Tamara Braun. You’ll also be able to view the gallery and the main media site at OBSCURE MEDIA and TAMARA SOAP MEDIA. I hope we have another productive year here as Tamara continues to pursue other interesting projects. I know I can hardly wait. Thanks guys for the ride so far, but as they say, it ain’t over yet!

I’ve completed the reorganizing of the gallery. It’s finally the way I’ve been wanting it for some time now. I hope it’s easier to access Tamara’s work in terms of finding whatever television show or film she was in. I still have just a little more tiding up within the various sections but by and large it’s done. While cleaning things up I realized I didn’t have some of Tamara’s television work in the gallery. I’ll be uploading those soon. I also have a couple of articles I want to get in there and in the press section. During the cleaning I also deleted a whole whack of files I really don’t want there any more. Some of those files were in the Arthouse section. I’ve decided to not keep those in the gallery, rather, I’ll be moving them to the main site in the Multimedia section. I’m going to be organizing that in the next few days so you’ll be able to find that stuff there. I also have deleted the video zip files. I’ve decided they are going to be added in the form of videos to the main media and soap site. I know there are some people who would like to download and view them on iPods and other iPhones, iPads, Smartphones and the like, but the media sites are viewable on these devices so you can watch them there. Another reason I did this was to free up space for Tamara’s upcoming role on NECESSARY ROUGHNESS. Given there are over 70,000 screencaps in there already, I needed to make the cut somewhere. That’s where I made the decision. I’m also considering deleting some of the files to replace with better quality versions of the screencaps or replacing them with files I received from Hurley when she handed her site’s content over to me. I’ll let you know what I decide. Thanks for understanding.
