I’m trying to get some press scans caught up and I thought with Tamara not having been on for the last two days (typical), I thought now would be a good time to get those cleared up. The first is a Soap Opera Digest set from the first of the year detailing the previews for 2018 for all the shows. Included was a section on GENERAL HOSPITAL where the head writers mention something about Kim. It’s such a small mention I’ll include it here instead of adding it to the press section. The scans are below the quote.

Kim: “She holds the key to some information that could prove useful to Drew. Plus, she is hte resident ob/gyn now, and we have babies to deliver! And ther certainly will be romance in her future.”

Tamara has just confirmed via her Instagram and Twitter accounts that she is indeed coming back to GENERAL HOSPITAL. Entertainment Weekly Online is saying it’ll be as a new character, but my Spidey Senses are telling me it’s as Carly. There’s a candid interview coming up in ABC Soaps in Depth with Laura Wright and I’m feeling that it is an exit interview, and with news that Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett) is on her way back could GENERAL HOSPITAL be gearing up for another Carly/Sonny/Brenda triangle? Could be. Again this is all my speculation.

Still no confirmation of Tamara’s return to GENERAL HOSPITAL. The latest edition of ABC Soaps in Depth carries an article other online publications have been stating of her “imminent” return, though there is still no confirmation from either Tamara or the show. Speculation is that she’s playing a brand new character…. That’ll remain to be seen. I’m only going to give an educated guess here and say Tamara won’t be returning to the show as another character, rather, as Carly. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m so sick and tired of known actors returning to soap operas as characters other than the ones they originated. I’ll cite Tamara’s 2011 return to DAYS OF OUR LIVES not in her Emmy Award Winning role of Ava Vitali but as Taylor Walker and how much of a let down that was. I still cannot watch DOOL and see Josh Taylor as Roman Brady without thinking of him as Chris Kositchek. GENERAL HOSPITAL has currently seen the return of long-time fan favourite Steve Burton who played stone cold Jason Morgan for twenty one years before leaving, then showing up on The Young & The Restless as Dylan McAvoy. Burton left last year and returned to his former role. However, that role is currently being occupied by actor Billy Miller. Burton has said he’s signed a three-year deal. Now we begin the whole “Story of Two Jasons”. Could we possibly be seeing the “Tale of Two Carlys”? There’s been next to nothing said by any of the soap-based media since the original report in September. Either one of two things is happening, 1) the report from Daytime Dirty Laundry was fake, or 2) Current Carly protrayer Laura Wright is leaving and Tamara is coming back, but they don’t want the news out quite so soon. As promised, I have a couple of press additions for you. the first is an article Tamara did back in April 2012 from Soap Opera Digest where she discusses her magical time with preparing for her play Tennessee In The Summer, plus her meeting President and Michelle Obama at the White House, her attending the Kennedy Center Honors and the Grammys. She also talks with pride about her grandfather. The other article is from ABC Soaps In Depth from this past July where she talks solely about her role in the play. Enjoy.

Some new press additions for you. I have the latest edition of ABC SOAPS IN DEPTH where GH executive producer, Jill Farren Phelps, denies Tamara is returning to GH. Yeah Jill, be more convincing. I also have two other things that have been backlogged. I still have a ton of stuff to get up in the press section and the scans in the gallery but…. Enjoy. As usual, links in the articles lead to the actual scans in the gallery. However, if you want to see the actual scans, I’ll include the links there in post. Also, I’m currently working on getting July’s DOOL‘s screencaps and clips done and added to the site. Stay tuned.

Well, not sure what to think but according to internet buzz, Tamara is on her way back to GENERAL HOSPITAL….or not! According to a posting on ABC SOAPS IN DEPTH website it was a done deal. Now the post is gone and they’ve issued a retraction. Not sure what is going on but someone is up to some cyber hijinx. My hope? It’s true. I’d kill to see Tamara back as Carly.

UPDATE: Braun Not Headed Back To GH

UPDATE: According to a GH spokesperson, this is a false rumor and Braun is not headed back to GENERAL HOSPITAL.

Tamara Braun (ex-Reese, ALL MY CHILDREN; ex-Carly, GENERAL HOSPITAL) will be exiting DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Taylor in the coming months, and the Emmy winner already has her next gig lined up: multiple sources confirm to Soaps In Depth that she’s returning to GH!

Rest assured, Laura Wright fans. We hear that Carly’s current portrayer is in no danger of being replaced by her predecessor. Rather, Braun will be playing a new character when she returns to Port Charles this fall!

Of course, this won’t be the first past Carly to come back in the form of a new character. Sarah Joy Brown, who originated the role in 1996 before Braun took over in 2001, stepped into the stilettos of Claudia Zacchara in 2008. And Braun already has experience in playing a different character on a soap she’s already called home: Prior to her current DAYS gig, the actress played Ava for 6 months in 2008, even winning a Supporting Actress Emmy for her performance!
