TAMARA OBSCURA || 06/15/2011 – DAYS OF OUR LIVES MEDIA

You might notice the posting about Tamara’s family member Lauren Spierer is on the top of the main post page. I’ve moved it up as a sticky and it will remain there until Lauren’s disposition is known. I don’t want her to be forgotten in amongst all the other posts. This is important. So starting with this post, all will be under the sticky. Thanks for understanding.

I loved todays eppy with Tamara holding her own against Joseph Mascolo (Stefano DiMera). If anything this scene should be the one that keeps her on the show. Why? Not enough really strong women on the soaps these days. I loved how Taylor under Tamara’s deft handling didn’t become another one of Stefano’s dismissals. It seemed to me that Joe Mascolo was enjoying his ‘tit-for-tat’ banter with Tamara. To me, I really feel that Tamara’s time on this show was cut way too short. She needed more time to iron out Taylor’s past idosyncracies. This episode alone should have shown why Ken Corday has made a big mistake.

TAMARA OBSCURA || JUNE 2011 DOOL UPDATES

Many, many, many apologies for not having had these updates up as they’ve aired. A lot of stuff happening in my life that I couldn’t avoid being a part of. Also it does take time to get the episode recorded, converted, clipped and screencapped. Unfortunately I am a mega procrastinator and this is what happens…stuff piles up and people get mad at me. This is why I’m not good under pressure…unless it’s the Queen/Bowie version. Then I’m all engaged. Okay, enough preamble. Here’s what you came for…. That is if I can still remember the coding……………. ::massive silence::

For those who were regulars at the SONY board, I finally found out what happened. Apparently their boards were hacked by the same people who hacked the Playstation Network. It may be weeks before their boards are back up and running again. Likely all our posts might be gone. But there you are.

TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA NEEDS OUR HELP

Tamara has tweeted that a relative of hers, a young woman named Lauren Spierer who attends Indiana State University, has gone missing. Tamara needs your help to find her. If you can, please RETWEET and keep this alive. Lauren apparently suffers from a rare heart condition and needs medical attention for it. Here is the full article on her case. More info will follow after the cut:

Days of Our Lives star Tamara Braun pleads for help in locating missing relative

By Rene Thurston, Riverside Soap Opera Examiner

On Monday, Twitter was abuzz with retweets from soap star Tamara Braun, who is pleading for help to find her relative, 20-year-old Indiana University College student, Lauren Spierer, who has been missing since Friday, June 3rd.

Braun currently stars as Taylor on soap Days of Our Lives, which airs at 1pm weekdays on Riverside affiliate NBC Channel 4.

Spierer was last seen at 11th Street and College Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana in the early morning hours of June 3rd, walking to her apartment a few hours after leaving Kilroy’s Sports Bar where she had been with friends.

The Fox television program America’s Most Wanted aired Lauren’s story on Sunday night, during which it was revealed that Lauren and an acquaintence, Corey Rossman, left the sports bar together and walked to her apartment building. Cameras recorded the two lingering in the lobby briefly at around 2:40 a.m. but they then left to go to Rossman’s apartment. According to Rossman’s attorney, Carl Salzmann, there was an altercation with some other people at Lauren’s building, during which Corey was punched, which led to the two returning to Rossman’s apartment.

Friends indicated that around 4:30 a.m., Lauren stated she was tired and was heading home. The acquaintence watched her walk away until she was out of sight to be sure was okay. She was last seen three blocks from her apartment complex.

Since the Sunday night AMW broadcast, more than 30 tips have been received, though police say they have not led to any major breakthroughs. Police do say, however, that there are 10 “persons of interest” they wish to speak to in the case, though none are currently considered suspects.

Actress Tamara Braun is asking that you please spread the word about Lauren through Twitter and any other forms of social networking you are involved in. Please direct people to the web site that has been set up at http://www.findlauren.com If you live in the Bloomington area, volunteers are needed.

Lauren is 20 years old and a junior at Indiana University. She is 4’11” tall, 95 lbs. with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants and a white tank top with a loose, light-colored, button-down top. She suffers from a rare and dangerous heart condition, long-QT syndrome, which requires immediate medical attention.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Lauren, or any information that may help police in this case, please contact the Bloomington, Indiana Police Department at 812-339-4477 or email Help Find Lauren No tip or piece of information is too small or insignificant.

The family has set up a website for Lauren you can find here: Find Lauren. The phone number where you can reach authorities is in the article. Again, if you have a Twitter account, please continue to retweet Tamara’s plea. If you live in Indiana or Illinois, please contact the police if you have any information.

TAMARA OBSCURA || NEW FACEBOOK PAGE

I know I haven’t posted the newest screencaps or media, but my media sites are still wonked up. What do I mean by “wonked up”? I just cannot get into the admin panels in order to upload the media to the sites. Until that time, I’m afraid I’ll be a bit behind. As if the downtime wasn’t enough, this insult is added to injury. I know you want the latest media up….alas. I also wanted to issue an invitation to those of you who posted on the SONY board to come on over to my old/new Facebook page. I set it up a while ago with another URL but changed it to use for my own personal account there. I’m hoping it will be the clearing house for all my sites where updates will be posted to the individual sites I own, plus sharing various things like minutae found on the internet. I’m hoping you’ll all come aboard and join me.

TAMARA OBSCURA || TAMARA HAS BEEN LET GO BY CORDAY

According to Soap Opera Digest Online Tamara has been let go as Taylor. Apparently Ken Corday courts her for two years to come back and then cans her. You can read the news at the above link. This is sad news. I was getting used to seeing her again.
